Dear First
Grade Families,
We have had a great week together! We are all settling into a routine
and the kids are beginning to understand the expectations I have for
them. As part of our reading series your child has learned to read
Moonbear’s books and Annie, Bea and Chi chi Delores. We have
completed a variety of activities to go along with the stories.
In math this week we practiced writing numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4, we
practiced figuring out one more and one less, and we practiced counting.
In the folder today you received an orange card. This needs to be
filled out so your child can get a library card. We walk to the Onekama
Public Library sometimes and if your child has a card they can check out
books. If you already have a card for your child please bring it to
school so they have it when we visit the library.
I would like to thank those of you who came to open house Tuesday. It
was nice to meet you! Hopefully I will get a chance to meet the rest of
you soon. If anyone is interested in volunteering please let me know.
I will need a parent on a daily basis during our guided reading time.
You will need to come in at 8:30 and stay until at least 9:30. I would
like to have parents in place by the middle of October. |
Your child may have a water bottle at school. Be sure it is a bottle
that will not easily spill. They can leave it throughout the week and
then I will ask them to take it home to be washed over the weekend.
We have 1 snack each afternoon. Please provide your child with a
healthy snack each day.
We are on the web!! We have a wonderful webmaster and she is so fast at
getting the pictures and things we send her up on our classroom page.
My newsletters are always there and I try to take pictures so you can
see what your child is doing. Please check us out!
It is supposed to be another nice weekend. Enjoy the weather!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Lyman
