My favorite god is Hephaestus, the god of fire.  He lives in a volcano on an island.  His symbol is the mighty anvil. He is ugly with ragged clothes.  He also has a beard and a moustache.  His favorite food is fresh pineapple.  He loves t make things out of metal.

My favorite goddess is Artemis because she protects the wild animals. She lives on Mt. Olympus and her symbols are the moon, bow, arrow and bear. She looks beautiful because she wears a bear claw necklace.  She likes to eat eggs and vegetables.  Her favorite thing to do is play with the animals.

Artemis protects the animals.  I love nature and animals just like her.  I always go into the woods like her.  Her symbols are the bear and deer.  She lives no Mt. Olympus.  She has brown hair, carries a bow and is very pretty.

Discovering the Greek God and Goddess of Mount Olympus

Why incorporate Greek Mythology into an elementary Language Arts Curriculum?

Greek mythology equips students to understand allusions in poetry and literature and, for that matter, the daily newspaper and TV. These are the basics that have worked their way into our very vocabulary. Then there's some more fundamental level on which the myths speak to the human psyche.

Hera by Keira

My favorite Goddess is Hera because she reminds me of my family.  I love peacocks because I like their colors.  They are beautiful.  Hera lives on Mt. Olympus.  She takes care of her family.  Zeus does not pay attention to her and she feels mad.

Zeus by Zack

My favorite God is Zeus because his name start with letter Z and so does  my name.  Zeus lives no a Mount Olympus.  His symbol is a lightening bolt and a throne.  Zeus looks like he is very strong and he has a beard and his eyes glow.   His favorite food is fruit.  Zeus likes to sit on this throne and say “what a great kingdom I have.”

Hera has brown hair.  She lives on Mt. Olympus.  Her symbol is peacocks.  She has brown hair.  She has green eyes.  Her favorite food is fruit.  HEra is pretty.  She wears pretty dresses.  She is very faithful.  She is jealous of Zeus.

Zeus has many warriors.  Zeus had a golden throne.  Zeus had some kids.  Zeus had a temple.  Zeus has yellow hair.  Zeus’ symbol is the thunderbolt.

Hera is a Goddess of Family.  My favorite Goddess is Hera because she likes peacocks and I like peacocks.  She is so pretty and she has brown hair.  She lives on Mt. Olympus, and her favorite colors are red and blue.

My favorite God is Poseidon.  He lives n Mount Olympus.  I know his symbol is a horse.  He has blue eyes and hair.  He looks like the sea.  He likes to eat gold apples.  He likes to play in the sea.  His friends are everyone.  I like him because I like to swim.

My favorite God is Ares because he reminds me of when I got in a war with Nick.  Ares’ favorite food is steak and potatoes. His favorite thing t d is play video games and start wars.  Ares favorite friend is Zeus.  Together, they live on Mt. Olympus. Ares’ symbols are the chariot and the armor.  Ares has brown hair, gold armor, and a gold and black sword.  He is very tall and handsome, and that is why he is my favorite.

Apollo’s symbol is the harp. He is the god of light and music.  I would guess that his favorite thing to do is play music all day on his harp.  All of his friends are probably those who play music. He is also the god of healing.

Olympus.  Artemis’s symbols are the deer, arrow, and bear.  Artemis has brown hair, brown eyes and a purple dress.  Her favorite food is eggs.  Artemis likes to play with her animal friends.  Her friends are Athena and the animals.

My favorite goddess is Athena, the goddess of wisdom because she wears a pretty pink dress. She also has an owl. Her owl is black and brown.  Athena’s favorite food is apples.

My favorite Goddess is Aphrodite because she is the prettiest of all the Gods and Goddesses.  Aphrodite wears jewelry all the time.  She lives on Mt. Olympus.  Her symbols are the dove and the gose.  She has long blond hair.  Aphrodite always looks in the mirror and looks at her jewelry.

Ares is the God of War.  He likes to kill people.  Has a golden apple that people fight over.  His symbols are the sword and the helmut.

My favorite is Zeus because he has thunderbolts.  He has a beard and a moustache connected to his beard.  Zeus has blue clothes and he has his own kingdom.
