Mackinac Island
Gavin A.
I went to Mackinac Island with
Tyler and the third grade. We took a carriage ride to Arch Rock. We also
went past Skull Cave. The last carriage ride went to the Grand Hotel but
we walked. It was only a 10 minute walk. We ate at the Grand Hotel. They
have a 100 foot long Buffet. At free time Tyler and I went to stores
with our parents. We got these hand buzzers that make sounds when you
press a button. We also went to Fort Mackinac. We saw bunches of old
fashioned stuff. Ater that we went home with my Mom. We ate at Ruby
Tuesday. After we got home I watched T.V. and went to bed. I liked this
trip because I got to go to Fort Mackinac. Also I got to go to stores.

Last Friday my 3rd grade class

Onekama at 5:51 A.M. We saw Fort Mackinac on Mackinac Island. We had
lunch at the Grand Hotel. We saw Skull Cave on the Island. We went to
Arch Rock. We all saw it. You can't have cars on the Island. We saw
horse stables. I bought fudge at a store. We saw a lot of stuff from the
war. We saw a movie about the war. We crossed the bridge twice. We went
to the Upper Peninsula. We saw old muskets there. The ferry was very
fast. My dad came with me on the trip. This was a good trip cause
everyone got to have some fun on the island. We all went to like a lodge
there. You can buy some stuff at the lodge. The best part of the trip
was when you could buy stuff at the lodge. We went to the lodge to get
ready to go to our next carriage.

Last week my class went to
Mackinac Island. I had to wake up at 4:00 am. On the bus we crossed the
Mackinac Bridge. It is five miles long! We got on a ferry and went to
Mackinac Island. My class and I went on a tour and we got to see Arch
Rock, Skull Cave, and Fort Mackinac. We also saw the Grand Hotel. We had
lunch there. I age mashed potatoes and gravy, pork and a cookie. We got
free time afterwards. Colin and I went to the fort and we got shot at by
muskets but they were only blanks. It was almost time to go so we got on
the boat. When we got off we went to a restaurant. After that we went
home.

On Friday I went to Mackinac
Island with Lauren and my dad. We had to get up at 4:00 in the morning
to catch the bus. My friend Lauren came from Niles! I couldn't wait to
see her. It was a long ride to Mackinac City. We topped at a rest stop
to go to the bathroom. I was too excited to sleep. We crossed the bridge
at the Straits of Mackinac! The bridge is 5 miles long! That's the
longest bridge I've ever seen. This is my first time in the Upper
Peninsula! When we got to the ferry it was wet on the top and you
couldn't find a seat. Me and Lauren got soaked on the way there. So she
and I went down a couple minutes later. At last we got there.
Everybody waited in a room to wait for the horse carriage. We had a buy
named Phoster. It was his first day on the job so he didn't know how to
control the horses. One's name was Aimas. He went too slow. Finally we
went to this house where we could buy food. Then we would switch
carriages. We got a girl now. Now she knew how to work the horses! We
went to Arch Rock. It was a round shape. There were trails with it. I
went down a lot of them. Then we went to the Grand Hotel. We ate lunch
there. There was a big buffet table. It was 100 feet long. The dessert
table was only ten. After that we went downstairs to see the stuff. It
was cool! We walked on the porch. It is longer than the White
House....600 feet long. We walked to Fort Mackinac. There was a
hospital, blacksmith and war stand. They shot cannons and rifles. Lauren
and I thought it was ten minutes till the ferry left so we ran to get
fudge! But it was really an houre. So we spent the rest of the
time shopping for fudge and souveniers. I got a water bottle, 6 post
cards, a hat , and a stone. We got a big bag of popcorn. We ate all we
could. We got to the ferry just in time! I went to the top again with
Laurne. It was windy. I didn't get splashed though! I rode home with my
dad, Mrs. Cook, Mr. Acton and Mr. Soper. We stopped at Little Ceasers
for dinner. We got there 2 hours and 30 minutes before the bus.

we went across the Straits of Mackinac. When we got to Mackinac Island
we got a carriage ride around Mackinac Island. Our carriage tourists
were foster, and Kathy. After the carriage ride we ate lunch at the
Grand Hotel. After lunch we got to go to the little tower on top of the
Grand Hotel. After lunch we got to go to the little tower on top of the
Grand Hotel. Next Jared, James, Tammy, Patty and I went to Fort
Mackinac. We got to watch a cannon fire and after that we got to see a
rifle fire. Next we left Fort Mackinac and got some fudge. After Tammy
and I went and got some sweat shirts. The designs were ironed them. Then
we went to get some ice cream Then we went to the dock like 4:30 and
boarded the Sheplers Ferry and went home. The field trip was the best
trip I have ever went to on my life. The best part about the day was the
Grand Hotel.
Field Trip to Mackinac Island
by Brendan
Last Friday I went on a field
trip to Mackinac Island. We had to get up at 5:00. It wasn't that early.
When we got on the bus I couldn't keep my eyes open. It took a long time
to get to Gaylord. In Gaylord we had a rest stop. Then we crossed the
Mackinac Bridge. Then we came back across. After that we took Sheplers
to the island. Then we got on a carriage. We took the carriage to a
building. Then we got on another carriage. We went through the state
park. Then we got on another carriage. It took us to the Grand Hotel. We
ate lunch there. There were so many people there. Then we had free time.
We went into town. We bought some fudge. Then we met the group at the
ferry dock. Then we left the island. It was the best field trip because
it was so much fun.
