Book Bowl 2010

Bookbrains got 5th

We had a very enjoyable day
at the Book Bowl competition held at Kennedy Elementary. Onekama
had two team competing. They were the
Bookbrains and the
Bookworms. Both teams
worked very hard preparing for the competition and I commend them
for all of the time and effort they put into their reading. Way to

On May 5, 2010, the 5th grade had Book Bowl. We had to
go to Kennedy School to compete. Our team, the Onekama
Bookworms, got 6th place. The other Onekama team, the
Onekama Bookbrains, got 5th place. After we were done,
we went to Dairy Queen to eat ice cream. Even though we
got 6th place, I thought Book Bowl was a lot of fun.

On Wednesday May 5th we had Book Bowl at Kennedy
Elementary. We had two teams. One of our teams
was the Bookworms. The people on the Bookworms
were Kiara, Austin, Me, Jarrod, and Lauryn. Our
other team was the Book Brains. The people on
that team were Jacob, Brooke, Kyle, and Bobby.
The Bookworms got 6th place and the Book
Brains got 5th place. We lost our first game by
one question. Kiara was the captain for every
game. Also if your teammate tells you an answer
and you think you won't be able to remember it,
you can confer the question to them and have
them answer. The books I read were The Wish
Giver and The True Confessions of Charlotte
Doyle. Also both of our teams got eliminated
from the competition. We were a little upset
that we got eliminated. Then after Book
Bowl Mrs. Bromley treated us to Dairy Queen for
all our hard work. Book Bowl was a great
experience.

On
May 5, 2010 the fifth grade had Book Bowl. Book Bowl was at
Kennedy. We had two teams for Onekama, the Book Worms, and the
Book Brains. I was on the Book Worms along with Austin, Kiara,
Lauryn, and Kelly. I read Where The Red Fern Grows and
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. We played a few
rounds and then we ate lunch. When we were done eating we went
out side for recess. After recess we played another round.
We lost that one. When Book Bowl was over we had 6th place.
Manistee Public won 1st place. I still had a lot of fun though!

On May 5, 2010 we had Book Bowl. The name of the team I was on
was Book Brains, and the other team was Book Worms. Our team won
our first game. Then we won our second game. We didn't have much
luck on our third though we lost. Then we ate lunch and played
outside. When we came back in we had another game. Sadly we lost
that one to. Overall we did good we took 5th place. I think
that Book Bowl was really fun! ~Bobby

On Wednesday May 5th, 2010 9 members of the Onekama fifth grade
class went to Book Bowl. Book Bowl is a competition where your
team reads various books that the moderator asks questions
about. The team that I was on was The Book Brains that had 4
people on it. The other team was The Book Worms that had 5
people on it. Also, The Book Brains took fifth and The Book
Brains took sixth place out of 16 teams. I loved Book Bowl.

Wednesday May 5, 2010 my team and I went to Kennedy Elementary
to play Book Bowl. It was so fun. Our team name was the Book
Worms. We got sixth place. We had another Onekama team and their
name was the Book Brains. They got fifth place. The books I read
for Book Bowl was The War with Grandpa and Sign of the
Beaver. The people on my team were Austin, Kelly, Kiara,
Jarrod, and me. It was so fun playing Book Bowl.

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010 some of the Onekama fifth graders went
to book bowl. We had two teams the Bookworms and the Bookbrains.
I was on the Bookworms with Jarrod, Kiara, Lauryn, and Kelly.
The people on the other team was Bobby, Kyle, Jacob, and Brooke.
They got fifth place and we got sixth. The book bowl was held at
Kennedy in Manistee. I got to see a lot of old friends
which was my favorite part. Afterwards we got Dairy Queen. Book
bowl was very fun. ~Austin
