Dear First Grade Families,
This week we worked very hard on our
second magazine test. Graded tests will come home in next week’s
folders. In math this week we started our number scrolls, talked about
having fact power, played an addition game with dice and completed our
unit 4 checking progress. Graded tests will come home in next week’s
folders. The Unit 5 letter came home today. We completed an economics
lesson about goods and services, producers and consumers. We also
discussed voluntary trade and we traded books with Mrs. N’s class.
Spelling will begin on Monday. Your
child will receive 6 spelling words to study throughout the week. On
Thursday they will take a test on the 6 words. Any words they spell
incorrectly on Thursday will be part of their spelling list again the
following week. If your child spells all six of their spelling words
correctly they will get a package of Smarties candies!

There will be no school next Friday,
January 23rd. We are having a teacher in-service. The last
day of the marking period is Jan. 22nd. Report cards will
come home on Friday, January 30th.
I have gotten a few ski forms turned
in. Please be sure to get your forms turned in as soon as possible so
we can have everything ready for our trip to Crystal Mountain. If you
misplaced your forms please let me know and I can send new forms home
with your child.
Questions to ask your
child this week are the following:
-
What is a good? What is a service?
-
Who is a producer? Who is a consumer?
Have a nice weekend!
Stay warm!!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Lyman |
