On May 13, 2009 the fourth grade went to Magoon Creek. It was its 25th anniversary! We went on a nature walk. Some people talked to us about native american items, soil, birds, trees, seedlings, and an old farmhouse. We even saw a porcupine scurrying through the woods! Magoon Creek was a very scenic field trip. ~Kiara

             The 4th graders went to Magoon Creek on May 13, 2009. The first speaker we stopped at was a Native American. I got a bracelet because I got a question right. The next speaker we stopped at was a person who studies soil. He taught us about soil . ~Makayla.s

This year fourth grade went to Magoon Creek.  The first thing we did was learn about Indians. We learned about Michigan’s soil and there were different layers of soil. My favorite speaker was the man told us about the soil because it was cool when we saw the different layers of soil. Magoon Creek was fun. ~McKayla H.       

Our class went to Magoon Creek on May 13th.  Then our class met a Native American.  He showed our class some flutes.  Than this guy told us about diet. Than our class went to school. ~Matt

          On May 13, 2009 the fourth grade went to Magoon Creek. At Magoon Creek my favorite thing was the tree planting man. He told us how to plant trees. I new how to plant trees but it was still cool. Our class had a fun time at Magoon Creek. ~April

   On May 13th, 2009 my class went to Magoon Creek. We had about 5 speakers. My favorite one was the bird speaker. We saw a baby porcupine when a speaker was talking to us. Then on the way home we ate lunch at Lighthouse Park. We played tag at the park. I had a blast at Magoon Creek. ~Tighe

On May 13th,2009 the fourth grade class went to Magoon Creek in Manistee. My favorite speaker was the guy who talked about the soils. The first thing that he talked about was the different layers in the soil. The most interesting thing was the charcoal in the ground from the fires in Manistee. The second most interesting thing was the different colors in the ground. I learned a lot of neat stuff at Magoon Creek. ~Kyle

On May 13, 2009 the fourth grade went to Magoon Creek. We seen a lot of speakers, but my favorite one was the soil speaker. He told us a lot of stuff about soil. Some things that he taught us about were soils layers, different soils, and a bunch of other stuff. After the tour was done we went to Lighthouse Park. Going to Magoon Creek was really fun.

On may 13 2009 the fourth grade went to Magoon Creek. When we got there we went to a Native American speaker. Then we went on the trail and we came to a soil speaker. We went to a lot of other speakers but way too much to talk about. After Magoon Creek we went to lighthouse park. It was a vary good field trip. ~Jacob

       On Wednesday May 13th, 2009 my class went to Magoon Creek. We had five speakers. My favorite speaker was the guy who told us about Native American cultures because he taught me a lot about Indians. It took two ours to walk the trail, and my feet were sore from walking. After that we got on the bus and went to Lighthouse Park first we had lunch then we played on it ten we went home. Magoon Creek was very fun. ~Austin

          On Wednesday May 3,2009 the fourth grade went to Magoon Creek. My favorite part was when we went to a dude that take about birds. I learned that the girl hawk is bigger than the boy. The boy is stronger than the girl hawk. Magoon Creek was so much fun.  ~Kassie     

        On May 13, 2009 Mrs. Bennett’s went to Magoon Creek and learned a lot. My favorite thing was the tree speaker. The speaker told us about all different tree. One tree he told us about was the Beach tree. Two things I did not like was  that there was posine ivy in the woods and a very big spider was on my foot. Magoon Creek was a fun field trip. ~Grace

          On May 13, 2009 Mrs. Bennett’s fourth grade went to Magoon Creek. We had five  speakers. One speaker we had was a Native American speaker. He showed us what each item was and what is meant. After Magoon Creek we went to Lighthouse park and ate lunch. Magoon Creek was so much fun! ~Kelly

Fourth grade went to Magoon Creek on Wednesday. The first place we went to was the Native American guy. When I got something he asked us I had bow. It was embarising. My friend guessed a thing that did tattoos on you body and she had to bow too. I had fun at Magoon Creek. ~Kassidy

    On Wednesday May 13, 2009 our fourth grade class went to Magoon Creek. First we went to a guy with Native American items. Then went to a guy to talk about the soil. We also talked about things with other people too. I had so much fun at Magoon Creek. ~Lauryn

 On May 13, 2009 fourth grade went to Magoon Creek. We had a couple of speakers. My favorite speaker was the Native American. The reason he was my favorite is because he talked a lot about things that Native American made and things they used. The next speaker talked about Michigan’s soil and the different layers. On the way back to school we stopped at light house park and ate lunch then we got to play. Magoon Creek was a blast. ~Bobby

Fourth grade went to Magoon Creek May 13, 2009.  We had lots of fun when we went there. The First person we went to is a Native American guy.  He talked about lots of things. Then we went to this guy that studies the soil. He taut us a lot of stuff to do to. Then we went to this bird guy that talked about lots of birds. Then we went to light house park to play. Our class had a fun time at Magoon Creek.  ~Taler 

On Wednesday May 13, 2009 fourth grade went to Magoon Creek. The thing I liked was the soil. There were different colors like black, gray and gold. It was very interesting. The man said that the big routes grow on the bottom because the water is closest to the bottom. Then he said that the smaller ones are on the top because the isn’t much water. Magoon Creek was so much fun. ~KG

            Fourth grade went to Magoon creek on Wednesday May 13 2009. The first person we went to was the Native American guy. I liked it because I got to hold a rain shaker. It was really cool. The next person we went to was the guy that studies soil. I learned that the deeper you go the soil changes colors. Then we went to the bird guy. He told us about birds. He also told us he got attacked by a hawk.  Then we went to light house park. I had a blast! ~Michele

         On May 13, 2009 Mrs. Bennett’s class went to Magoon Creek. Magoon Creek was really fun because you can learn about Michigan. We hade 5 speakers the first one talked about What Native Americans made and how they made it. The 2 person talked about soil and he showed us different kind of dirt . The 3 person talked about different kinds of birds and then he told us a scary story HE GOT ATTACKED BY A HAWK! The 4th one was nice because we got to plant a pine tree .The first person was my favorite because he showed us neat things. Magoon Creek was a really fun trip.  ~Xana

          On May 13, 2009 the fourth grader went to Magoon creek. When we got there our first speaker was  a Native American and he showed us what Native American’s used to make and what they used to use. The next speaker talked about the Kalkaska soil. It had different kinds of layers. The next speaker talked about different kinds of hocks. The last speaker talked about different kinds of trees. Then when we were done at Magoon Creek we went to Light House Park. I liked that field trip.    ~MAS
