White Chicks

This year Mrs. Bromley’s class is
raising baby chicks. Autumn and Emilie are in her class.
Autumn said Mr. Zupin gave the
class the eggs. Emilie said, “I was happy” and Autumn
said, “I thought it was going to be fun”. Autumn said they
were white and brown. The first thing they did was to put
them in the incubator. Autumn had said to keep them warm and
to see what side to flip them on. Autumn had said we had to
turn them every day. Autumn had said they had to turn them
two times a day and Emilie had said you have to turn them
three times a day. Autumn had said it is a box that keeps
the chick egg’s warm. Autumn said candling is were you see
the baby chicks moving inside the eggs. Autumn and Emilie
said they saw the chicks moving. Autumn said it ate the
yoke.
Autumn and Emilie had said 21
days. Autumn had said it is so they can see there food. They
said feed. Autumn and Emilie had said petting the chicks.
They said they loved hatching the
eggs. They wish they could do it next year.
New Borns -Peep Peep

This year in Mrs. Bromley’s class the students hatched
chicks. Blanca is a student in Mrs. Bromley’s class.
Blanca said a man gave the class the eggs but the man’s name
was Mr. Zupin. Blanca thought the eggs looked pretty at
first and looked like an oval. Blanca also said the eggs
were white, brown, and tan. She was not there the day they
put X’s and O’s on the. “X’s and O’s are for when you turn
them”. Something Blanca had to do every day was turn them.
They had to turn them six times a day but they only had to
turn them three times a day. We talked about the incubator
next Blanca said,” It is a box thing that took care of the
eggs”. Blanca said candling is when you use a small light
and turn off the big lights. She said the baby chicks grow
because they eat Jell-O and the Jell-O was white.
Blanca said it takes 21 days to hatch. Blanca said she eat
so very very happy when the eggs hatched. Blanca said there
are coins in the food and water so they can see them. Blanca
said the baby chicks eat very small rocks. Her favorite part
about having the chicks is when they ran around and liked it
when she first saw them. Blanca is very nice!
Fuzzy Buddies

This year in Mrs. Bromley’s class
the students hatched chicks. Nalani is a student in Mrs.
Bromley’s class.
Nalani said a guy gave them the
eggs and his name was Mr. Zupin. She said when she saw the
eggs she thought they were cut. Nalani said, the eggs were
brown white, and green. She said they pot X’s and O’s on
them first. Nalani said “The eggs have X’s and O’s because
it keeps them warm and to know what side to flip.” They had
to keep them warm and flip them Nalani said. They flipped
the eggs three or four times. Nalani said the incubator
keeps the eggs warm. She said candling is when they turned
off the lights and looked inside the eggs. Nalani said she
saw lines and dots like eyes. She said they eat yellow stuff
inside.
Nalani said it takes 21 days for
the chicks to hatch. She was existed because she wanted to
see them for a long time. Nalani said the coins are for the
food and water to play with. The coins are for the chicks
because they can’t see. She said the chicks eat seeds.
Nalani said her favorite part was flipping the eggs because
she liked to touch them.
Nalani is a great person to
interview. She probably had a great time with the
chicks.

Fly Fly Chickee

This year in Mrs. Bromley’s class the students hatched
chicks. Sara is a student in Mrs. Bromley’s class.
Sara said that Mrs. Hopwood gave the class the eggs. She
said when she saw the eggs they looked cool. Sara said the
eggs were white and green. Sara said, “We had to turn the
eggs over when we first got them.” Sara said they put Xs and
Os on them to know what side to turn over. “The thing we did
every day was turn them over,” said Sara. Sara said they
turned them over two times a day. She said an Incubator
keeps the eggs warm. Sara said Candling is when you can see
the baby chicks. She said she could see the baby chicks
moving in side the eggs. Sara said they ate sticks and sand
in side the eggs.
Sara said it took 20 days for the eggs to hatch. She said it
was cool when she the eggs hatching. She said the coins in
the water and food was for the baby chicks to see there food
and water. Sara said the baby chicks eat something like bird
seed. Sara liked the brown ones because they were fluffy.
It was fun working with Sara. She was an awesome student.

This year in Mrs. Bromleys class
the students hatched chicks. Coriena is a student in Mrs.
Bromleys class.
Coriena said Mrs. Hopwood brought in the eggs. Therefore Mr.
Zupin brought in the eggs to the class. When Coriena first
seen the eggs she thought they were cute and she new right
away that they were baby chicks. Coriena said that the eggs
were yellow, white, and black. The first thing they had to
do with the baby chicks was they had to put them into the
Incubator so they could stay warm. The incubator gets to
about 110 degrees. Coriena said,” You have to put X’s and
O’s on them to keep them warm.” Coriena also said that they
had to flip them two times a day, Therefore that had to flip
them three times a day. Coriena said an Incubator is a box
that takes care of the eggs. Coriena said that candling is
when you look through the egg to see baby chicks. Coriena
said she seen baby chicks inside the eggs. Coriena said that
the baby chick ate the yolk to grow.
Coriena said it took ten days for the eggs to hatch,
Therefore it really takes twenty-one days to hatch. Coriena
said,” That she felt really exited and happy when the eggs
hatched.” There are coins in there food so they can look at
them, and so there food wont fall out. Coriena said that the
baby chicks eat baby chick food. Coriena’s favorite part was
when the eggs hatched.
Coriena really enjoyed the baby chicks! Coriena is a great
Student!
The Baby Chicks

This year in Mr.K’s class the students hatched chicks.
Nayleigh is a student in Mr. K’s class.
Mr. Zupin gave the class eggs. Nayleigh felt happy when she
first saw the eggs. Nayleigh said, “The eggs were white.”
Nayleigh said they put X’s and O’s on the eggs so they knew
which side they needed to flip over next. She said the class
had to flip over the eggs every day.
Nayleigh said, “We had to flip
them over three times a day.” The incubator keeps the eggs
warm. Nayleigh said she could see the chicks eye in the egg.
It took 21 days for the chicks to hatch. Nayleigh said she
felt excited when the eggs hatched. They put coins in the
food and water so it would be easier for the chicks to see
the food and water. The baby chicks ate bird food. Nayleigh
said the best thing about hatching the eggs in the classroom
was the chicks.
Nayleigh said that
when the chicks are older they would go to some ones house.
Mr. K’s class had a great time with the eggs.
Chick Fun

This year in Mrs. Bromley’s class the students hatched
chicks. Jenna is a student in Mrs. Bromley’s class.
She thought April gave her class the eggs. She was happy the
first time she saw the eggs. The eggs were pink, green,
white, and there were little ones too. Jenna said, “The
first thing you do is flip them over.” Jenna put X’s and O’s
on the eggs so they were up right. Everyday you had to keep
the eggs in the incubator a long time. You have to flip the
eggs one time a day. The incubator keeps the eggs warm.
Candling is when you turn off the lights and looked in the
eggs.
It takes twenty-one days for the eggs to hatch. When the
chicks hatched she felt so happy. The coins help the chicks
find their food and water by shinning. The chick’s food
looks like little, tiny rocks. She said, “I like when they
say chick chick.”
Jenna had a lot of fun hatching chicks. She also had fun
interviewing.
