Yesterday
the Onekama fifth grade went to ride across Lake Michigan on the S.S.
Badger. When we got there the ship did not look very big but when we got
in the ship it seemed to be huge. Our guide took us to a room in the
back of the boat and told us were the rooms were and she told us the
rules of the boat. When she was done talking we got to go check out the
ship. We all were up on deck when the captain blew the horn to signal
that we were about to leave the dock. We all wanted to see the ship take
off. When the boat left the canal we went to the gift shop I bought a
cheese head. After that we went to the arcade most of the games were out
of order though. They were playing Hotel for Dogs in the theater. I
watched a little bit of that because I've seen that movie a lot. After
we got to Manitowoc, Wisconsin we went to the Maritime Museum. There we
toured a submarine and checked out their exhibits. It was awesome there
was a room that you could build your own boat and sail it through canals
and through a mini Sue Locks under bridges and down rivers. There was a
virtual fishing and we got to buy Torpedo Juice (Root Beer). That tasted
really good. After the museum we had to get back on the boat to go back
to Michigan. Once we got back we road back to school and that was the
end of the trip. I had a great time on the Badger I hope my family goes

Yesterday
I went on the badger. We road the bus there and then they put the bus on
the boat. On the way to Wisconsin I watched hotel for dogs on the way
there and played in the arcade. Taya and I were partners on the badger.
We ate lunch and walked on the upper deck. In Wisconsin we got to go to
the museum. We got a tour of a submarine. Then we went on the boat and
went back to Michigan. The badger was fun. ~Keegan

I went on the Badger that takes you to Wisconsin and back we went to a
museum in Wisconsin. It was so much fun on a boat with all my friends.

we went on the Badger. We had an awesome time. It was really fun when we
left the dock. I thought the boat was huge. The Badger is the biggest
steam boat in the world. I liked the gift shop a lot. The movies that
were playing were The Hotel for Dogs and The Tale of Despereaux. I lied
watching the movies. I also liked the sub at the museum it was really
cool! There were a lot of other really cool things. The Badger was
really fun it was a really cool boat on the inside and outside. ~Alyssan

On 6/3/09
we went to the badger. It was a four hour trip there and back. Most
people went on deck. They had a movie playing there and back. It was so
much fun on the SS Badger. ~Courtney M.
Yesterday
the 5th grade went on the badger. The badger takes 4 hours to cross. It
is 60 miles across the lake. The badger is the biggest coal powered boat
in the world. The badger was really fun. ~Braden
Yesterday
we went on the S.S. Badger. We had to take a half hour drive to get to
the badger. Then we got all of us together and we got on the boat. My
sister came with me and on the way there we played bingo and wotched the
movie Hotel for dogs. When we got there we went to the maritime
museum. I played this fishing game and got some torpedo juice. Then
on the way bake me and my sister toke a nap. I had a lot of fun with my
sister on the S.S. Badger. ~Randy
Yesterday
my class went on the S.S Badger. It took 1 hour to get to Ludington.
Then we got on the Badger and put our stuff in a room. It took 4 hours
to get to Wisconsin. When we got to Wisconsin we went to the museum.
Then we got to go in a submarine. After we did that we went back on the
S.S Badger we headed back to Michigan. Are trip was so much

Yesterday
I went on the S.S Badger. It was an awesome trip!! I would love to do it
again. Me and Logan were playing Bingo a lot on the trip there I won a
free popcorn and stuff. Logan won a lot of stuff. And after that we went
to the Maritime Museum that was awesome we got a tour of the sub there.
And at the end we got to go to the gift shop and get Torpedo Juice it is
Root Beer. And it is so good. On the Badger Trip we had so much fun and

On June 3,
2009 we went on the Badger. It was so fun. The trip was 4 hours there
and 4 hours back. I played bingo and other stuff. When we got off the
boat in Wisconsin we went to a museum. It was so cool. We went on a

went on a trip to Wisconsin on the badger. It was fun! We got to go to a
museum. At the museum we got to go on a submarine tour. It was cool! I
was partners for the trip. The Badger is 410 feet long. The badger

but I never won. It took us four hours to get to Wisconsin. Then we went

we went on the badger. I thought I was going to get sea sick but I
didn't. On the badger I bought a cheese hat and I called myself "Cheese
Queen". It was funny. After 4 hours we got to Wisconsin. We went on a
sub. After that we got back on the badger. I got sea sick on the way
back but I didn't do much after that. It was fun! ~Tiffany
Wednesday June 3rd 2009 we went on a trip on the S.S. Badger. It was so
much fun. We had to be at the school by 6:45 and we left the school at
7:00 O'clock It took4hours there to Wisconsin and 4 hours back took 45
minutes to get from Onekama to Ludington. I had so much fun on the S.S.
Badger.

my class went on the badger trip. On the badger there were a lot of
things to do. There was a gift shop an arcade and a kid place. When we
got to Wisconsin we got to go to the museum and go in a sub. I loved it.

3rd we went on Badger. It was a lot of fun. My dad went with me. We also
went to a museum. We also went in a submarine. We all had a lot of fun.

Yesterday
we went on the S.S. Badger. It was fun. There were four levels to the
boat, but we could only go on three levels. It was the biggest boat I've
ever been on. After we got off of the boat we went to a museum in
Manitowac. There was a submarine that we went on it was so cool. We were
on the boat for eight hours. I liked the badger. It was so fun. ~Madison

on the S.S. Badger. It was so fun. We had to be at the school 7:00 a.m.,
because the bus was leaving at 7:00 a.m. It took us an hour to get to
Ludington. We had to wait until 9:00 a.m. until the boat left the docks.
Inside the boat there was a bunch of cool stuff. There was an arcade, a
movie theater, a quiet room/ museum, and a kids play room. It was fun
hiding from people, because there was a lot of space. The S.S. Badger
had 5, 6, or 7 floors. We were only aloud on 4 of them. The Badger had a
sister named the S.S. Spartan. The S.S. Badger is 18 in. taller than the
S.S. Spartan. Madison won a free pizza so Madison, Brandi, Hunter, Riley
(Brandi’s little sister), Larissa, and I. There was a bingo game going
on and we were all sitting there eating pizza and the guy saying the
numbers, he said a joke about a parrot or something, but he said it and
Riley said "because." It was really funny. We were all laughing so hard.
In the Wisconsin museum there was a bunch of boats. We went in a
submarine and it was so big and cool. At the end of the trip we were all

On June
3rd we went to the S.S. Badger. It was an eleven hour field trip. One
hour to get to Ludington. Four hours to get to Wisconsin. One hour at
the museum. Four hours back to Ludington. And one hour back from
Ludington. It was really fun. I got a cheese hat! Everyone thought it
was cool. I played bingo and won 6 games. I got a lot of prizes. Going
to the badger with my mom was really fun. ~Logan M.
Yesterday
the whole 5th grade went on the Badger. My dad thought I was going to
get sea sick so he wanted me to take medicine but I did not get sick. I
loved the Badger. They had bingo and different game and two movies that
were playing. The Badger was so so so fun. The badger was the best and I
never went on it before. It was the best. ~Lacee
