The boy Scouts are learning how the police collect fingerprints. Fingerprints are useful because everybody's fingerprints are different.

To get the fingerprints, you put a fine dust on the surface where the print may be hiding. Then use clear tape to "lift" the prints (dust) from the surface. Then the police can scan the prints and see if they can match the prints to someone.
