The Coast Guard Station

When we went to the Coast guard station we got to go on the boats and have a tour of them. It was fun. The part I liked was going in the bottom of the boat. It was warm. We got to see the engine room. After the boats we went in the building to see in there. We got to see a little movie on a computer. I liked going to the Coast Guard Station.

We went to the Coast Guard Station today. We got to go on the boats. There were 19 people in the whole building. They gave us a tour of the building and boats. I learned that the station was four years old. We had so much fun when we met the training dummy. His name was Oscar. They had a lab there. We got to go on a big ship the 47. The engine room was so cool. They usually fit four people per boat. The dock we went on to get there new little boat was floating. It was just hanging on to a big pole. The Coast Guard was Mrs. Bennett's neighbor. The people were telling us about the stories that they did. Mrs. Bennett's neighbor worked almost nine years being a coast guard. We had fun because we got to go all over the ships even in the drivers place. they showed us how they save someone that was floating on the water. It was scary to walk on the side with no rail. We could have fallen in. We had so much fun on our field trip.

At the Coast Guard Station there were three boats. Two of the boats were small and the third boat was a big boat. We went on two boats. One boat was one of the small boats and the other boat was the big boat. They were doing it like twenty (20) years. When we went inside we saw another boat. We saw a dummy. His name was Oscar.

Today we had a fun time at the coast guard station. I went with my class. We split up into groups. I went with Jon, Matt, and Caleb. We got to go on three boats. We got to go in the garage. In the garage they work on boats. They have cool computers in the coast guard.

Today we went to the Coast Guard. At the coast Guard we got split into groups. I was with Taya in group 2 I think. We first went around the coast guard. Then we saw a dog. Then we saw boats. I went on the small boat. Then we went on the big boat. Then we went back to school.

On November 14, 2007 we went to the coast guard Station. I had a lot of fun. We went into the building and 2 boats. On the little boat we learned that there could only be 4 people on it. The big boat could fit about 25 people. The little boat had 4 seats and we all sat in one but Spencer. The big boat we learned a lot more on because it had an engine room and all that stuff. We got to go into a locker room and we got to see a dog. We got to see a dummy. His name was Oscar. At first he looked like he was dead. I learned a lot on the field trip. I had a blast.

Today I went to the Coast Guard Station. The group that I was in went in the buildings first. I learned that a coast guard cannot retire until they have worked there for twenty (20) years. After we were in the building we went on the boats. I learned that the coast guards that swim get dropped out of helicopters. They have a boat that if it tips over in fifteen seconds it will be back on top in no time. They had a test dummy named Oscar. I had fun there.

This field trip we went to the coast guard station. We saw lots of cool stuff. We got to go on their boats. They had two little ones and one big one. We got to go in all the boats. It felt like a tour. There were five coast guards. One of them our L.A. teacher knew. He lived next door to her. Then we got to go in and look at stuff as we went around. The guy told us stuff about it. Then we went in their locker room. That's where I went to the bathroom. Then we went to watch a video about the coast guard. As we walked down the hall we saw a dog. That was the best field trip ever.

Today we went to the coast guard station. I got to see a tiny boat, but we got to go on it. He showed us what was in it. It was really big inside. It was bigger than it looked. When we were done we went to see a bigger boat. When we were there people were still in there. So we looked at a crash test dummy. Then we went on the bigger boat. We saw the engine room and captain deck. We went inside of the station. We saw a video and people who work there.

When the class went to the coast guard we split in half. Then one group went to the boats and the other went inside. My group went inside a really big room first. There wasn't much in there. Some kids still had a lot of questions. Then we went in a really small room. There was one boat in it. It was for the winter. We went in a room where the coast guard people change into their stuff. Then we went outside to the boats. We went on the biggest boat first. The boats were fun.

Today I went on a field trip. I went to the Coast Guard Station. First we were split into groups. Then my group went and saw the boats. There was a huge boat. We got to hear the sirens ring. After we went to see the station. We saw a dog. We saw some models of the boats. Then we saw the training room. It was a very fun trip.
