Beach Sweep 2007

On September 13, 2007 we went to the Arcadia beach. We picked up 17 pounds of trash. Kelly and I were in the dune grass. We found all the big stuff. Plus I was a picker upper with Kelly. All the big stuff was like pop bottles and cans. It was for the common good so the animals don't die and people don't get sick. So now people don't have to smell it or look at it. ...by Tighe

On Thursday 13, 2007 the third graders went to Arcadia to clean it up. We did it for our community and the common good. We were the ones that got most garbage in our class. Now it is better for the animals and people that go there. We collected 17 pounds of trash. The highest number of things we collected was cigarettes. I liked going because we saw lots of dead fish.

On Thursday September 13, 2007 the third graders went to Arcadia Beach. We cleaned the beach. We cleaned the beach for Great Lakes Alliance. We also did it for the common good. We collected 136 pieces of glass and 223 cigarette buds. I was a tally marker and a picker upper. If you were a tally marker you would write down what people picked up. If you were a picker upper you would pick trash up. I think it was a good idea to clean the beach because we can get hurt from stuff. It made me feel good. ...by Kiara
On Thursday September 13, 2007 the third graders of Onekama School went to Arcadia beach to clean up their trash. At the end I felt really good. We collected 17 pounds of trash on the beach. It was fun because at the end we got to play on the equipment. We were doing this for the common good. We were also doing this for our community and the environment. Thursday Sept. 13, 2007 the third graders went to clean Arcadia beach. We saw a piece of the Minnie Ha Ha. We volunteered to help clean the beach. People clean beaches for health sometimes. Cleaning beaches helps animals so less animals die then a lot of animals. My job was to talie poit what went in the bag. There were 223 cigarette boxes and filters. ...by April

On Thursday September 13th, 2007 the Third graders went to the Arcadia beach. We cleaned the beach very far down. We found 233 cigarette butts and 136 pieces of glass. I was the picker upper and the tally marker. I liked being both a lot. We are helping the community.
