A Look Back and Ahead |

For Reading this last week we worked with the story “A Chair for My Mother”. We worked with predicting, cause/effect, and plot. We will continue all those skills for next week’s story: “Now One Foot, Now the Other”. For Writing we will continue to work with complete sentences and writing paragraphs, with main ideas and supporting details, in our morning journals. We have been proofreading our work. Please go over your child’s work in their Thursday folders, maybe pick an assignment they wrote and practice proofreading with them, if the mood strikes J. We have not worked on spelling lists this week. The next test will be during the last week of January. During Math we worked with polygons two weeks ago and 3-dimensional shapes this week. Next week we will work with symmetry. We will conclude unit 5 next week also. Please continue working with flashcards, memorizing those facts has come in handy and will continue to come in handy. |
Thank you for your support for our attendance of the movie “Alvin and the Chipmunks”. I really think everyone enjoyed the movie and the break. Your support and hard work at home has really paid off. I have seen a lot of great things happening for each child so far this year and I am looking forward to continued growth through the rest of the year. Keep up the great work J. Thank you also for your generous donations and last-minute thoughtfulness for helping Raelynn’s family. Her grandmother sent cupcakes in this week as a thank-you back and was so thankful to all.
