Dear Kindergarten and First Grade Families, During shared reading time this week the first graders completed their 3rd magazine test. The Kindergarteners had the chance to work in the computer lab. Tests will be graded and sent home next week. First grade math this week has included more practice with What’s my Rule? activities and the unit 5 progress check. Progress Checks will be graded and sent home next week. I sent home math flashcards today. Please practice these with your first grader. Kindergarteners have been working very hard on counting and writing their numbers. Some have gotten well beyond 300! Today and tomorrow they will learn and practice tally marks. I have 3 books from the book order and I do not know who they belong to. I sent home all the books and didn’t think I missed anyone. If you are supposed to have Clifford Valentine Surprise, Sharks, or Penguins to the Rescue please let me know! By now, you should’ve all received the information about the Animal Research Project. Please let me know if you have any questions. Please be sure to send your child to school on Monday, March 3rd with their finished written report and their animal model. Then they will begin putting the information into their bare book to share on Young Author’s Night. We will be visiting the public library next week Wednesday. Please be sure your books are turned in by that day. |
We had dental hygienists visit today to talk to us about dental health. I sent home a packet of goodies for your child’s teeth. There is a fun test you can do with your child to check that they are reaching all their teeth when brushing. Be sure to ask them to tell you something they learned from the hygienists today. Questions to ask your child this week are the following: Kindergarten 1) Can you tell me your address?
