Mrs. Niederstadt's Class

November 30, 2007

Dear Parents,

Our classroom will now begin “Friday Folders.”  It will work better with our classroom routine and give you an opportunity to look it over during the weekend.  Please return your child’s folder on Monday or Tuesday.

Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to participate in parent-teacher conferences.  I enjoyed the opportunity to visit with you.

We will NOT walk to the Onekama Public Library next Wednesday.  It is closed for remodeling.  Our library field trips will be on hold until further notice.  Your child’s books are due on Wednesday, December 5th.  I will return any books returned to me before or on the 5th.  After the 5th you will need to return your child’s books to any Manistee Public Library branch: Bear Lake, Kaleva, Onekama, Wellston, Arcadia or Manistee.

Please be sure to send in proper cold weather attire everyday.  Your child needs to have a warm winter coat, hat, gloves, snow pants, snow boots, and a pair of inside shoes during the winter months.  Students are able to leave their snow pants and boots in the classroom for the week if there is an extra set at home for a snow day.  On Friday all items will be sent home for cleaning.  Your child is expected to go outside for recesses.  If you feel your child is too ill to go outside, then please keep him/her at home.

As you may have noticed I forgot to add our classroom wish list, it is enclosed now.  Most items are to replenish our cupboards; these items are used on a daily basis.

The following are dates that you may want to add to your calendar:

¨       Boy Scout Mtg. (1st grade) – December 4 at TBD

¨       Boy Scout Mtg. (2nd grade) – December 6 at 3:00 – 4:30 p.m.

¨       Girl Scout Mtg. (2nd grade) – December 6 at 3:00 – 4:30 p.m.

¨       Christmas Program – December 12 at 7:00 p.m.

¨       Toys for Tots/Gifts for Teens – December 14

¨       Giving Tree items – December 19

¨       Christmas Vacation – Dec. 22 – Jan. 1

Warmly,

Shantel
