Dear Parents,

Yesterday we walked to the Onekama Public Library.  This was our last trip for this year; we did not check out any books.  If your child returned his/her books, then enclosed is your child’s Manistee County Library card.  These cards are good at all Manistee County Library branches: Arcadia, Bear Lake, Kaleva, Manistee, Onekama and Wellston.  All library branches offer a wonderful reading program complete with prizes and wonderful programs such as scrapbooking, painting, crafts, speakers, and of course story hours during the summer months.   Once the library has finalized their schedule, I’ll send it home in the Friday folder. 

On Tuesday we will get our Pennies for Patients celebration.  Your child will not need a lunch.  We will have pizzas from EZ Mart for lunch.  Please provide a drink for your child.  Also we will have ice cream for afternoon snack.  I need a parent volunteer to deliver our pizzas to us at lunch time.  If you are available to help, then please contact me.

On Thursday we are going to Moomer’s in Traverse City.  We will leave at 8:00 a.m.  Our tour is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. at Moomer’s.  The tour lasts about 1-1/2 hours.  Each child will receive a homemade ice cream cone.  Afterwards we will go to Elberta Waterfront Park to have a sack lunch.  Your child will need to bring his/her own sack lunch.  Also it would be a good idea to pack extra snacks and a water bottle or two.  We should return to the school around 1:30ish.  Currently I have seven chaperones: Mrs. Bucker, Mrs. Clarke, Mrs. Domres, Mrs. Madsen, Mr. Showalter, Mrs. Somerville, and Mrs. Wisniski.

Just a friendly reminder about the money for Moomer’s.  It’s due on Monday.  Please send it in an envelope with your child’s name on it.  I would prefer cash, but checks can be made out to Moomer’s, if necessary.

Enclosed are our last book orders: May and June.  They are due on Monday, May 19^th.  Please make your check payable to Scholastic Book Club.
