Niederstadt's Class April 18, 2008 |
Dear Parents, We’ve finished with the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills (ITBS). Your child’s results will be mailed to you by the end of the school year. Ms. Schultz and I are taking our classes on a field trip to Moomer’s Ice Cream in Traverse City on Thursday, May 15th at 9:30 a.m. We will leave the school at 8:00 a.m. The tour takes about 1-1/2 hours. At the end of the tour, each student will receive an ice cream cone. The Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) will pay for the cost of the bus and driver. Students are responsible for a fee of $3.50 to receive a guided tour and a homemade ice cream cone. Afterwards we will stop at Elberta Park for a sack lunch. We should return to the school around 2:00 p.m. You need to send your child’s fee of $3.50 in an envelope with your child’s name on it. Parents are welcome to attend. If you’re interested, then you will need to include your fee of $3.50 in your child’s envelope. Please label the envelope accordingly. We would prefer cash, but checks can be made out to Moomer’s, if necessary. If you would like to learn more about Moomer’s, then visit their web site at www.moomers.com. Enclosed is first grade’s Unit 7 math assessment. The average score was 78%. This week we began Unit 8: Mental Arithmetic, Money & Fractions. I’ve enclosed Unit 8 parent letter for the unit overview and answers to the home links. During the month of April our classroom will collect items for the food pantry. We will collect until Wednesday, April 23rd. All items collected will be distributed to families in our area. We have only a few items so far.
Warmly, Shantel |
