Our Animal Research
Project

Mrs. Niederstadt's Class

1)       Help your child choose an animal they would like to know more about.

2)      Find books about the animal.  Look online to find information about the animal.

3)      Help your child write a brief report about the animal.  Please be sure your child answers the following questions about the animal.

  • What is the name of your animal?

  • Where does your animal live?

  • What does your animal eat?

  • What is the skin covering of your animal? (fur, scales, feathers, smooth)

  •  Please add any other facts your child thinks are interesting.

4)      Make a model of your animal.

EXAMPLES:

  • paper mache

  • 3D (by stuffing and stapling)

  • clay

  • sew

  • painted wood

The information your child collects will be put into story form and they will get the opportunity to read their story at Young Author’s Night.
