Miss Schultz Parent Letter
November 16, 2006
Dear Kindergarten and First Grade Families,
The kindergarten students completed their study of the alphabet this week. Next we will be doing a variety of rhyming activities which is the next step in preparing them for reading. The first graders read a story about the desert and they have shared all the information about the desert with the rest of the class. Part of the story was written in Spanish so we spent some time learning Spanish colors and numbers.
We have a short week coming up next week. There will be no school on Thursday and Friday due to the Thanksgiving holiday. I will not be sending homework or Thursday folders.
Our Christmas music program will be held on Dec. 5th at 7:00pm. The costume for the girls is a white blouse, bright colored skirts, hair pulled back away from the face in a braid or pony tail and scarves or shawls. The costume for the boys is a white collared shirt, dark colored pants and a kerchief.
Please disregard the list of items for the holiday party. We will not be having a party. We are taking the kids to a movie at the Vogue theatre in Manistee. I will keep you updated on the specifics of the day as it gets closer.
Thank-you so much to all of you who have donated items for our classroom!! I have gotten everything we need! I really appreciate all your generosity!
We have some families here at Onekama that need our help. As a class I would like to collect personal care items. Please bring in anything you can and we will begin collecting for one of the families. Bring in these items by Wed. December 20th. If you want to do more there will be trees with ornaments on them outside the office. Each ornament has a needed item on it that you can donate. Please help us help these families!
