Miss Schultz's Letter

Dear Kindergarten and First Grade Families,
Kindergarten completed their world books this week. They learned about their town, state, country, continent and planet.
First grade learned to read the story The Very Hungry Caterpillar. They were introduced to describing words and they completed a book with examples of describing words.
Next week is a busy week for us! Wednesday, Feb. 14th is our Valentine’s Day party. We will begin the festivities at 1:00. Attached to this letter you will find the list of things you signed up to bring. If you are bringing in a snack please make it a healthy snack. We have developed a wellness committee here at school and we want our parties to have less sugary items.
On Thursday, Feb. 15th we will be going to Crystal Mountain for our Good Behavior Ski Day. Please be sure your child has a sack lunch that day. We will leave in the morning and will return before our 3:00 dismissal.
Friday, Feb. 16th there is no school. Teachers have an in-service that day. Monday, Feb. 19th there is no school. That is a mid-winter break day.
I have attached a wish list. It is that time of year where our supplies are dwindling. Anything you can donate is greatly appreciated. Thank-you in advance!
Today was our 100th day of school! We did many special activities to celebrate. Ask your child about what we did!
Questions to ask your child this week are the following:
1) What is the name of our country?
1) Can you use describing words to tell me about an item in our house?
2) Can you tell me 2-5 words that have the long I sound in them?
