Dear Kindergarten and First Grade Families,

All through this week the kindergarten group listened to the story The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss.  They worked on words that rhyme with cat and the –at word family.  The first grade group read The Foot Book by Dr. Seuss in their basal and completed a variety of activities with rhyming and story structure.  Throughout this month we will be taking time to learn about how different countries celebrate Christmas and we will play a game or do an art project to represent how the country celebrates the holidays.

It was great to see all of you who were able to attend the Christmas program.  It was a very nice night.  The kids put on a beautiful show.

Please remember to bring in personal care items for the Onekama family our class is helping.  All items need to be turned in by Dec. 20th.

Next Friday the 15th we will be going to the Ramsdell Theatre to see the Angelina Ballerina production by the Conservatory of Dance.  Please fill-out the permission slip so your child can be a part of the experience.

Also, don’t forget that we are going to The Vogue theatre to see Charlotte’s Web on Dec. 21st.  I have received many permission slips and money, but if I still need yours please get it in as soon as you can!

Questions to ask your child this week are the following:

1)     Can you tell me 2 words that rhyme with cat?
