Fourth Graders
Help at
The Salvation Army
On December 15th, 2006, some students in the 4th grade went to the Salvation Army to help them do all kinds of things. We helped them do 400 baskets of food with only 12 people. We got to have "pizza". It was good. Yum yum! When we were done we went to the big tree that they had in the Christmas parade. We sang the rest of the way to the Ramsdell Theater. It was fun. ...Alexis
This year I went to the Salvation Army. I had fun. We didn't do it in bags. We did it in laundry baskets. We did over 400! Then we walked to the Ramsdell Theater because there was a ballet. On the way we sang Christmas carols like Jingle Bells, We Wish you a Merry Christmas and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. I had lots and lots of fun. ...Kayla K.
When we went to the Salvation Army there was a lady waiting for us. Her name was "Captain Joe". She was the one who showed us the process of putting food in  baskets and letting Mrs. Brown stack them up. After we were done Captain Joe said we had 400 baskets of food. When we left we walked to the Big Tree on River Street and took our picture. I thought it was really fun. Did I mention we did all this with only 12 people plus Mrs. Brown. ...Gerald E.
