On Friday, May 18, 2007 the 4th grade went to Mackinac Island. First, we got on the Shepler Ferry. Then, when we got to Mackinac Island we went on a carriage ride. She told us about some of Mackinac Island’s history. It was very interesting. Then we saw the butterfly house. There were butterflies all over the place. After that, we went on another carriage ride. He told us about downtown. There was a lot of stuff. We saw Arch Rock. Then, we went to fort Mackinac. When we were there we could eat lunch and then split up into our groups. In my group there was me, Julie, Natasha, and Julie’s mom. At Mackinac Island there was really good fudge. My favorite was the Rocky Road fudge. On Friday the fourth went to Mackinac Island. We took a fairy. The first thing that we did was take a carriage ride. This weird lady wanted to marry me. Next we went to the butter fly house. The we went to Arch Rock. Next we went to fort Mackinaw. We had a lot of fun in the kids quorters Because we got to dress up. We went into every thing in the fort. Now one was in me and my moms group so we hung out the Enos. My mom was a chaperon. Next we went into the village. The village was very busy. We went into a lot of fudge places. Next we went to the party store. I got a pink fuzzy hat. Then we went to get ice cream . Then we went to the dock. We rode shepelers back to land. Last Friday, May 18th we went to Mackinac Island. I had a great time. My mom came. She had a group with Anna, Caitlin, and I. First we rode on the Mackinac Bridge. Then came back. Then we went on Sheplers Ferry Rides. When we fist got there we went on a carriage tour. The name of our guide was Kat. Kat showed us Buildings in town and told us stories behind them. Then she drove us up to the Butterfly House. There were beautiful butterflies of many different colors. I liked this blue shimmer one. When we got out of the Butterfly House we got on a new carriage. This guide was named Steve. He took us to Arch Rock. Arch Rock was amazing! Then we went to Fort Mackinac and ate lunch. We went inside a lot of buildings there. My favorite was the Kids Quarters. After that we went to a store called Foxy. Caitlin and I got shorts there. Mine had monkeys printed on them and Caitlin’s had “soccer” printed on them. After that we went to the Bike Rental and got bikes. We saw the other side of the island but didn’t make it all the way around. After a while we turned our bikes in and went to a store called ‘Monkey Business”. We all got monkeys with big eyes. I named mine Frank. Anna named hers Mack, and Caitlin named hers Peanut. Then we went to Joann’s Fudge and each got some yummy fudge. Then it was time to go back home. We got on our ferry and rode home. On our way back we rode on top of the boat. Anna was freezing so we went to the bottom. I had a really fun time! I want to go back again someday. ….Louise |
On Friday, May 18 the fourth grade class went to Mackinac Island. My mom and dad went with me Kayla F was in my group. When we got to Mackinac Island City we went to the Mackinac Bridge and went over it and went back over to Mackinc City then we went to Sheplers and they took us over to mackinac island when we got there to mackinac island we went on a tour half way around mackinac our driver was named Kat. When we were done with the tour she took to the butterfly house we ate some snacks their .Then we went into the butterfly house they were landing on me. Then we went on another carriage and we went to see arch rock and skull cave. Then we ate lunch at the fort. Then we were split up into groups with our chaperones we went to see the highest point in Mackinac it was so pretty and we got lost then we went to go get some fudge. It was a lot of fun. …Taylor M.

Last Friday May 18, 2007 the 4th grade to Mackinac Island. We went on a boat it was the Sheplers. I sat on the top with my friends Jon and Andrew. My chaperon was Allissa Clark. The fourth grade went in the butterfly house together. Then we went on a carriage that held 35 people. The horses names were Rex, Ben ,and, Jake. We went to Arch rock. Our carriage tour was Daniel. I bought ice cream. We left and went on the boat again retune to the bus and ate at Wendy in grayling. Mackinac Island was great. …Danielle |

On May 18th the fourth grade classes went to Mackinac Island. It took a very long time to get there. We left the school at 5:15 in the morning! When got there we went on three carriage rides. Then we went to the butterfly house. It was awesome! Then we went to the fort. After eating lunch at the fort we went shopping. We left Mackinac Island around 4ish. We took a ferry ride it was called Sheplers. We all rode on top. We got to the school around 9:30. I was tired and I am sure my friends were to! …Hanah |

The bus ride to the fairy was about 3 hours long. The fairy ride was 20 min. My chaperone was Bernice, Hailey, Tawny, and Payton. There was a canon fire at the island. The boat that we took was sheplers. The carriag ride was 1 hour long. We went to arch rock it was COOL!!!!!!! ..By J. (no name on paper) |

When we got to Mackinac it smelled like pizza. We road a Carriage Tour we saw the Grand Hotel. It was tall. We got off the tour we had doneness. We were in groups with your chaperone in my group was Tawny, Payton, Bernice, Jordan, and me were in group. We went in the giveshop room. They had candy they were good. Our group went into the Butterfly house there was a lot of butterflyes in there. The Horse stain bad lee. We saw a Arch Rock. Our group stopped for fudge to try the fudge the fudge was great. On Friday the 18th my class went to Mackinac Island. We went 4 hours to the bridge. We went over and back. Then we took the ferry across to the island. Then we had a tour of the island. We stopped and bought some things and then we took the second part of the tour. We ate lunch in the fort and split up into our groups. Then there was a rifle and canon demonstration. We tried Mackinac Island fudge and we went to the haunted theater. I bought a necklace and three arrowheads. Then we took the ferry back and took class pictures. First we went on the bus to Mackinaw Island where the boat tacks you to Mackinaw Island than me and my chaperone and Jerett went on the carriage to this place and Jerett and I bought a donut. Then we went to the Butterfly House and you have to be careful to not step on them? Then we then we went to this place again. Then we ate are lunches. Then we waited for the carriage but there was room but we didn’t want to go in there. Then we toke the boat to the place then we ride the bus to school. …Lawrence |

On Friday May 18th we went to Mackinac Island. I was in my mom’s group with Hannah, Jacinda , and Natasha. We were on the boat for about 15-20 minutes. When we got there we stayed together to do our tours and eat lunch. After that we all got into our groups and left. My favorite place in the whole fort was the Kids Quarters. When we were done we in the fort we went to Main Street. On our way to Main Street we saw Thunder the biggest horse on the island. So, when we got to Main Street we went shopping for a bout a good 3 and a half hours. When it was time to go we got on the boat and left. On our way home I took a nap and when I woke up we were at Wendies to eat. When we were done eating we got on the bus and left. When we got home it was about 9:30. ….Julie |
On Friday May 8th
the fourth grade took a trip to Mackinac island. We got to go over the
Mackinac bridge. The UP looks a lot different than the LP. We took the
ferry called the Sheplers. Arch rock looked really cool and it was
really high up. I really liked the butterfly house. There were so many
different kinds of butterflies. Six butterflies landed on me. The fudge
there was really good. My mom was my chaperone. I really liked fort
Mackinac. In fort Mackinac there was this building that kids could play
in. You could dress up as a soilder or be one on tv. There was a hole
bunch of things to do there. They had a lot of cool things at the gift
shop. Mackinac island was really fun! |

On May,18 2007 the 4th grade classes went to Mackinac Island. We drove the bus up to the Sheplers Ferry station. Then we road the Sheplers Ferry to Mackinac Island. The Chaperone for Gerald and I, was my dad. Right when we got there we got a carriage tour. Then we went to the butterfly house. It was amazing. I got my own buddy there to. My buddy was a butterfly. He wouldn’t get off my shoulder until Russell blew him off. (I wasn’t happy about it) Then we went to the fort and ate lunch. We saw Arch Rock and it was huge and awesome!! Then Gerald, My Dad, and I went to the haunted house and it was cool. I bought some delicious fudge. We went to Wendys for Dinner. When we drove home I had a big headache but I had a lot of fun. ….Tucker |
On May 18, 2007 the 4th graders went to Mackinac Island. The ferry we rode was the Shepplers. We took the carriage tour too. I liked the butterfly house. My favorite spot was Fort Mackinac. They fired a cannon and a few guns. All they did was fired blanks. A blank is just gun powder for a cannon and a shell and gun powder for a gun. There was a place called the kids’ quarters. I dressed up as a soldier. After the fort I went to the haunted house. It was creepy. Then we went to the gift shops. There was a Jokes and gags store too. I got lots of fudge. When we were getting ready to leave people threw chips for the sea gulls. It was a fifteen minute ride from the Island to Mackinac city. It was a 4 hour drive to get home. It was 9:00 when I got home. When I got home I ate and went to sleep. I was tierd. It was a blast …Elijah |

On May 18 the fourth grade went to Mackinac Island First we had to come to school around 5.We left the school around 5:15. We rode the Sheppler’s Fairy t o Mackinac Island. First we rode on the carriage tour. When we were done with the tour we went to the Butterfly House. At the Butterfly House you walked into a big room and there would be butterflies everywhere. After that we went to the fort. At the fort we ate lunch and split into groups. I was in Alexis’s dad’ group. Janique, Alexis, Kayla, and me were in the group. After that we went into the fort we walked up to one of the stables. Then we went to a lot of fudge shops and mini shops. After that we headed toward the fairy. We sat on the top. When we got back down to the L. P and stopped at Wendies. It was a really fun day. .....Megan S. |
On Friday, May 18,we went to Macinack Island went on a Shepler’s ferry. When we got to the island we went on a carriage tour. The tour had 2 parts the city and the State Park. Before the 2nd part we went to the butterfly house. Then in the middle of the 2nd part we visited Arch Rock. After the tour, we had lunch in the Fort Mackinack. Then we split into our groups. My group went exploring the fort. Then we went shopping. I got a slice of fudge, Mermaid bath toys, a hat, a Dora bubble- blower for my 5-year-old sister, and a Macinack Island pressed penny. Then we went home on another Shepler’s ferry. It was one of the best field trips ever. …Katie |

On May 18th our class went to Mackinac Island. We got to Shepler’s Ferry docks at about 10:00, we rode on a boat called Captain Shepler. Some people rode on top where you get wet and cold. When we got there we couldn’t believe our eyes the place was beautiful. There we met our first carriage tour leader named Kat. Kat said that when the statue of Father Jacque Marquette was built they didn’t now what he looked like so they had to wing it. After Kat dropped us off we went to the butterfly house. The butterfly house was awesome! They just fly around freely in a big green house. When we were done another carriage pulled up. A man named Steve took us on the woods tour. We got to Arch Rock and everyone loved it, well I loved it. Then Steve dropped us off at Fort Mackinac where we had lunch. Once we were done we got to explore the fort. When we left the fort we split up into groups. I was with Louise, Caitlin, and Louise’s mom. We rented bikes, and rode around town. After we went shopping we went to Foxy’s, Monkey Business, and Joann’s Fudge shop. I’m very happy I went and I hope I go there again some time. ….Anna |
On May 18, 2007 all of the fourth graders loaded the bus and left. It
was a long drive, about 5 hours. When we got there we got on a ferry
called” Sheplers.” We took that to Macinac Island. There we got a
carriage tour. My tourist was Norah, The other group had Kat. After that
we went to the Butterfly House. Butter flys where everywhere. On the
ground in the air, one even landed on me. Then we took a carriage ride
(part 2). Are tourist was Steve. He took us to arch rock. Then we where
free to do all we want. My chaperone was Tucker’s Dad. It was Tucker
Tucker’s Dad and I in a group. We went to fort macinac and ate lunch
there. Then we wondered around there for a wile. Next we down town. We
went to the haunted theater, Then went to rybas fudge shop. Then waited
for the next 30 minuets and then boarded sheplers again. Then at the
dock, on the bus again, ya ya ya. Then we went to Wendy’s! And after
that we went home! |

Hailey, Bernice, Jordan, Payton, Miranda and I went to the gift shop and we got a light up your teeth. After the gift shop we went to the butterfly house and one landed on Payton’s hat and Payton put his hat on the beach and the butterfly flew away. There was a butterfly on the beach and it landed on Jordan's finger. Jordan , Bernice, Payton tried the Fudge and Payton did like it. Hailey , Miranda, and I didn’t like it. Then we went the ice cream store and bought ice cream. Then we got on a carriage tour and we got to see a Arch Rock. We went to the British fort. We went to a cannon ball and it was loud. | On Friday May 18th, we went to Mackinac Island. I had to get up at 4:00 and be to school at 5:15 to leave on the bus .We rode on the bus until we got to the ferry dock. It took 20 min to get to the island by Ferry. When we got there we had to go on a carriage tour. Then we went to the butter fly house. Then we went on another carriage tour and went to arch rock. Then we rode the carriage until we got to Fort Mackinac. Then we ate there and looked at all the Buildings the kids quarters was the best be cause you could dress up as a soldier and do a TV gun activity then we went to town. We bought stuff from gift shops and trick stores and fudge shops. I liked the Indian store a lot. Then we went to the ferry dock. It took 15 min. to get back then we got back on the bus and drove to wendys and ate and then went home. I want to go back. …Devin. C |
On Friday, May 18th the fourth grade went to Mackinac Island. We had to be at the school by 5:15 a.m. When we got to the island we took a carriage tour. After the first part of the tour we went to the butterfly house. Then we took the second part of the carriage tour. For the most part it was just trees. Then we went to the fort and ate lunch. After we ate lunch we got to split up with our chaperones. My chaperone was John Tribfelner. In my group there were Alexis, Kayla, Megan, and me. After lunch we went to the haunted theater. We were screaming really loud. It was really fun. Then we went to a lot of stores. The fudge was really good. We also walked to the Grand Hotel. It was a really long walk. Then we had to get back on the ferry. On the way back home we stopped at Wendy’s. It was the best field trip ever. …Janique |
