The Third Graders were excited about
getting to use their
new dictionaries.

     Mrs. Bromley reported, "The kids immediately wanted to use their dictionaries when we got back to class, so we looked up their spelling words and wrote definitions.  Then they ASKED for more words to look up for homework. 

  I didn’t give them homework, but I did have them take their dictionaries home that evening to show to their parents, and then they brought them back the next day so that we could look up even more information!"

Dear Kiwanis Club,
Thank you for our dictionaries. They help us a lot. On Wednesday we looked up three spelling words. It was fun. I looked up the Declaration of Independence on page 372. I found the 43 presidents. There is information about the 8 planets. There is also the seven continents. Weights and measures are in the dictionary. Now I know the longest word in English language. I can't pronounce that word.
