Mrs. Niederstadt's Parent Letter

November 30, 2006

Dear Parents,

We’ve began a new reading unit called “Get The Giggles.”  It includes stories called On Top Of Spaghetti, The Foot Book, and The Lady With The Alligator Purse.  Also poems by Shel Silverstein and Jack Prelutsky.  Over the next few weeks, you will see four books come home:  On Top Of Spaghetti, Where Is My Baby?, Hank and Lin, and Fox and Chick.  These books will include new vocabulary words.  Enclosed is a copy of those words.

Our annual Christmas program will be held on Tuesday, December 5th at 7:00 p.m. in the gymnasium.  Your child needs to arrive to school at 6:45 p.m. in the classroom.  The program is titled Fiesta Navidades.  The students will sing authentic folk songs from Spain, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Columbia.  The suggested attire is brightly colored skirts (prints or solids), white blouses, shawls and/or scarves to be worn around shoulders and/or head for girls.  Also hair pulled away from face (braids, ponytails, buns) is suggested.  Dark pants (grey, black, navy blue or brown) with white shirts along with red kerchief to be worn around their neck are the suggested attire for the boys.

The Onekama Public Library is at it again!  Throughout the next two weeks, your child can make up to five Christmas cards.  You can stop into the library during the library hours: Monday & Tuesday – 11-5, Wednesday & Thursday – 12-6 and Friday 10-4.  If you have any questions, feel free to call Jane at 889-4041.

The following are dates that you may want to add to your calendar:
