Mrs. Niederstadt's Parent Letter March 22, 2007 |
Dear Parents,
Today we walked to the Onekama Public Library with Ms. Schultz’s class. Carol Shiverly from the Manistee Public Library read several stories to us during our visit. If students returned their Manistee Public Library books, then they were able to check out three new books. These books are due on Friday, April 13th.
Tonight is Young Author’s Night at 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the Media Center. Your child will have the opportunity to share his/her story. Students have worked very hard creating their hard-covered books. If you do attend, then please do not take your child’s book home. This is different from the past. Students will be able to take their books home on Friday. They need their books for buddy reading with Mr. Kudlack’s class.
Tomorrow we will attend a performance of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at Brethren High School. The permission slip came home in your child’s homework folder on Tuesday. We will leave at 8:15 a.m. The production begins at 9:00 a.m. We will return in time for lunch. One of the students in our classroom, James Eno is a wolf in this play. We are very excited to see him!
Since we are attending this performance, we will not have gym class, store or spelling tests. This spelling test was going to be our last until after Spring Break. Students will keep their words for the next test in April.
Warmly,
Shantel |
There is no homework or spelling words next week. We are gearing down for Spring Break. The weather is getting nicer. Everyone needs to get outside and enjoy the weather.
On Wednesday you are invited to attend spring parent-teacher conferences from 6-9 p.m. The format is different than fall conferences. They are offered one night on a first-come first-serve basis. No appointment is necessary. This does make it more difficult to coordinate conferences for those who have several children. If you are unable to attend conferences or unable to get in to see me, then I will send your child’s report card home in your child’s Thursday Folder.
