Dear Parents,

Tomorrow I will not be in the classroom. Sarah Skop will be my substitute.  She substituted for me last October.  The students really enjoyed her.

Next week we will have gingerbread activities throughout the week with Mrs. Brown’s fourth-fifth grade class.  The activities will focus on art, reading, writing and mathematics.  On Thursday we will make gingerbread cookies in the morning and eat them for snack in the afternoon.  Your child needs to wear appropriate clothing for making cookies.

Also this week is the last week for card making at the Onekama Public Library.  Your child can make up to five Christmas cards.  Next week is “Santa’s Workshop.”  Children can decorate an ornament, create wrapping paper, make a necklace and decorate a pinecone.  You can stop into the library during the library hours: Monday & Tuesday – 11-5, Wednesday & Thursday – 12-6 and Friday 10-4.  If you have any questions, feel free to call Jane at 889-4041.

Next Friday we will visit the Ramsdell Theater to see Angelina the Ballerina.  We will leave at noon and should arrive back to school around 2:45 p.m.  Enclosed is a note/permission slip from Mrs. Hagen.  Please read it over.  Sign and return the permission slip with your child.

If you have purchased an item for Toys for Tots/Gifts for Teens, then it needs to be placed into the bin in the Student Services Office by Friday, December 15th

Winter is here!! Please be sure that your child has proper snow clothing that includes winter coat, snow pants, boots, hat, and gloves.  Students will need to keep a dry pair of shoes at school, because they need to take off their snow boots after recess.  This will avoid us sitting on wet, dirty carpet.  If your child has extra snow pants and boots, then they are welcome to keep them at school for the week.  On Fridays all belongings will be sent home for a good cleaning as will our cubbies.  Also due to the cold, wet weather students will go to the gymnasium for lunch recess everyday throughout the winter season.

Warmly,

Shantel                                           Mrs. N's Home Page
