Miss Schultz's Parent Letter

Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005

Dear Kindergarten Families,

This week in Kindergarten we have been learning all about the letter Hh. At the language center students completed their Hh book, 2 tongue twister activities and they decorated a die-cut letter H. At the writing center students practiced writing the letter Hh, drew a picture of something that begins with Hh, practiced in sand and with wikki stix and they dictated a story. At the math center students were tested on their understanding of patterns, they cut our number cards for use throughout the year and they played a number game. At the theme art center students completed a graph that showed the amount of ingredients in a witch stew (ghost toes (mini-marshmallows), skeleton bones (cheerios), witch warts (chocolate chips)) and they made a class book.

Tomorrow we will have show-and-tell so please help your child find something that begins with Hh to bring in and share with our class.

As the weekend brings Halloween I would like to remind you to please keep the candy at home. Students learn better when they are eating healthy throughout the day so please continue to pack healthy snacks and save the sweet treats for dessert after dinner. Thank-you!!

Our Halloween party begins at 1:20 on Monday. Please make sure your child has their costume to change into at that time. Everyone is welcome so feel free to visit and enjoy our Halloween festivities.
