Dear Kindergarten Families, Our theme this week has been families and we have focused on learning the chronological order of our family members. At the theme art center students read a book about families and then they made their own book about their family. At the writing center students wrote 2-4 sentences in their journal about their family. They also made a special gift for their Mom for Mother’s day. At the language center students used alphabet stamps to stamp words that were given to them. They also stamped 4 more words from around the room. They listened to a story and drew a picture as well as wrote about their favorite part. At the math center students made May calendars. They made a picture with the pattern blocks and wrote about their picture. They also practiced writing numbers as high as possible. We participated in A.C.E.S. (All Children Exercising Simultaneously) this week in the gym with Mr. Thorr. We had our last play time with the chicks on Tuesday. The drawings and writing your child completed will be coming home soon. Please have them share with you all they things they experienced. I will be calling in the book order soon so please turn in your orders!! I have included 2 permission slips with this letter. Please fill them both out and return them to me asap so we can prepare for these upcoming events. Remember that Moomer’s will cost your child $1.00. If you are planning on being a chaperone I will get back to you on your cost for the trip. Things happening in May: Kindergarten donations to food pantry accepted all month!! Friday, May 26th Reading Buddies Beach Party Monday, May 29th – No School Wednesday, May 31st field trip to Moomer’s Ice Cream Factory in TC and Spring Sing at 7:00pm I hope you all enjoy your weekend!!
