Onekama Elementary Fourth Grade Visits Mackinac Island

	Last Friday we went to Mackinac Island. It was a blast. We took a ferry across the lake to get there. Then when we got there we took a carriage ride to the butterfly house. There were butterflies everywhere. There were all different kinds. After that we took the other half of the carriage ride through the woods and to the fort where they shot guns while we were eating. ...Kaitlin
	Mackinac Island is in a lake that connects to Lake Michigan. It's called Lake Huron. My mom went as a chaperone. I had Meghan in my Group. We walked with Clair's group. I went to the haunted house. It was scary. I bought a squishy yo-yo. ...Faith The beginning of the bus ride was really cool because it was still dark out and it was dark on the bus. We took all of our stuff off the bus and got on the boat. My group sat on top. After the carriage tour we were turned loose to see the fort. 	Finally we got to the fort. It was really cool. We split up in groups and shopped, explored, or whatever! ...Claire The bus ride to Mackinac was really, really long, but we got there early enough to cross the bridge with the time we had! 	I got an alligator hat. We got to see a lot of butterflies. I got wet on the ferry. We ate at Wendy's on the way home. 	The first thing we did is we went on a carriage. Then we went to the butterfly house. Then we went to the even bigger carriage and we got to a place where we ate lunch. 	It was a lot of fun. Mackinac Island was a four hour drive from school. I got to ride on the ferry. I got to sit on top.
