Fourth Grader "Stick to the Topic" & Write About Cooperating

Last year when I was at John Michaels house playing he wanted to ride bikes. That was towards the end of my stay so we had run out of ideas of what to do. I cooperated with him and said OK, but first I wanted to do what we had started for a bit longer. So that's what we did. He did not complain at all. One time I went to Mackinac Island. I watched them make fudge out of a jint window. They were making chocolate fudge. First they lade the srupy fudge on a big metal table. The man put on rubber gloves. He started flipping the fudge with a giant metal spatula. He flipped it over and over again. Then me, my mom, and step dad went in the store. I got penit butter fudge. It was delicious.
Then I saw a haunted house. We bought three tickets then we went inside. I was scared the hole time. It was very spooky. There was a dead guy in a chist with a glass box on it. Then we got stuk, because there were 4 doors. My step dad opened up the rong door. There was a blinking red lite. There was a teribul noise. It was very LOUD! When we got out I was fine. But I couldn't let go of my mom. I was glad I was out. ...Sierra

Last year Logan, our class, and I went behind Alin Brown's house to release salmon. Logan and I had 10 salmon together. We found a dead rainbow trout. It had a huge cut in its neck. I cooperated when Logan fell in a small and goey mud hole and I had to pull him out with John Michael's help. There was a huge toad that we saw. Then we counted down and we released the salmon. Nick fell in the mud also. Kaitlin went in the stream. It was a really long bus ride back to school. We were really sad that the salmon were gone.

Last year in third grade my class raised salmon. When we got the eggs, we learned that when they are a milky white color then the eggs are dead. That was sad when they died. When the eggs hatched, they had a sack on their bellies full of food, (we didn't have to feed them, yet.) When they got older, we started to feed them. There was a little bit of fighting about who would feed them but in the end we just turns. It was really sad when we had to let them go, but it was happy that we didn't have to take care of them anymore! So, altogether it was pretty fun!! ...Claire

One day my brother and I were told to clean out the chicken coop. First we had to get shovels, gloves and a wheelbarrow. We started by shoveling out all the old hay in to the wheelbarrow. When the wheelbarrow was full we got to dump it. When we got back and started to fill it up again a rooster tried to attack my brother. But we ran out and slammed the door on it. Then we swooshed the rooster out and went in. It only took one more wheelbarrow full and then we were done. We cooperated well together by working equally. ...Logan

My friend and I cooperated last winter. We had to cooperate on what to do. We went outside in the snow. We played queen of the mountain. After we played queen of the mountain we played with my dog. He was a wolf. We were people trying to survive the cold. Then we made a snowman only it was a girl. Then we went inside and had hot chockolet. Then we went back outside and made an igloo. Then we continued the game. We made the igloo by the snowman. The snowman was the mom and we were the kids. The igloo was our shelter. We decorated the snowman with a hat an coat. We put gloves on it too. Then we got cold so we went inside and ate lunch. After we ate lunch we watched a moved called Little Marmaed two. At 3:00 her mom came to pick her up. When she got home she called me and said it was fun and she wants to do it again. ...Faith

When I helped my mom we kleaned the house. We did not argue at all. It took an hour to clean the house. The first room we started was my sister's room. Then we went to my brother's room. His room was mesy. Then we did my room. It was mesy too, but not as mesy as my brother's room. When we cleaned my mom and dads room there was cat food everywhere because the cats made a fuss but we did not fight. It was fun. I hope we nofr do it again. ...Brandon

About half a year ago, my mom and dad said they were taking us to my brother's appointment in Traverse City. So we were on our way to lunch, and I said were are we going for lunch? My dad said how about Wendys. We said "Yes"! So who should we see there, Aunt Mary. My mom and dad set it up, but we didn't know that yet. So then we asked if they wanted to sit by us. They said sure. So after we ate they secretly followed us. So anyway we were in the car, mom, dad, me and Duane. So we were passing near Great Wolf Louge and my brother said "turn" laughing quietly my dad turned. "Dad" my brother said. I was kidding. My dad said I didn't know. Next we pulled up to the door my dad said get out. Okay we said, open the trunk. So we did and there was our luggage. I screamed "Y&a"!! So we got out and got inside. We all helped carry in luggage. So we got in our room an unpacked. So anyway then I asked, hey want to go downstairs. Shure. So together we got down stairs. What should we do, my mom asked. I wanted to go to the arcade. My brother wanted to go swimming. So we decided to go to the arcade. It was so much fun in the arcade . We played a lot of games. So then we cooperated by going to the pool next because that's what my brother wanted to do. The water park was warm. I did a lot of rides. We stayed there for two nights. I worked together with my friend on a fort in the back year. We got some wood from my dad. My Dad gave us some nails to build. I hit myself with a hammer on the finger. We got post hole diggers and dug holes for posts, and then we put up the frame. ...Josh

When I was 7 years old my cousin came for a few days. She helped me clean my room. We made it spotless. We also cleaned downstairs. It was fun when we cleaned. I cooperated with her because she cleaned my floor and I dusted. We also took some short brakes. When we went to clean downstairs we both did the same thing. We also cleaned the pool. When I was vacuuming the pool a grasshopper jumped on me. I screamed. Then my mom came out and said "why are you screaming." I said "a grasshopper jumped on me." She said "it's only a grasshopper." One day my friend Nisha and I were figuring out what to play for the day. We thought about it for a little bit. Then we said Lets go four weeling. My dad said we could go for 10 or 15 minutes because my mom was making dinner for us to eat. So Nisha and I went fore weeling. Then we went back to my house. We ate some dinner and then my dad said we could go again for a while. We had so much fun floring it on the fore weelers. After a wiel I got cold so we went to go park them. One day my brother and I had to do the laundry. If we didn't we would not have any allowance for a year. So we carefully crept downstairs hoping that the dog wouldn't come down stairs. On Saturday we clean the house. We have to wear rubber gluves to keep our hands safe. One time I didn't want to get my feet wet so I put rubber gloves on my feet. I looked like a duck but without wings and a lot of feathers. Me and my mom work well together. We usually use a lot of cemickals but we have to use rubber gluves to keep our hands from getting the cemicals all over them. Then when I was making one of the beds and my sister hit me with a pillow so I hit her back then it was a pillow fight. Then I mope the upstairs and done. I have to mope the bathroom with the rag on my hands and it's not so fun, but the rest is pretty fun. Washing the windows is ok. I cooperated with my dad when we had to wash the cat. We did not use shampoo. I had a lot of fun. We just put our cat in the shower. I do not think our cat had fun. Our cat is about 3 years old in human years. Our cat was named Teetoo. I liked her a lot. She was the best cat in the world. My cat ran away about 2 months ago. I wish she would come home. It was pretty hard to earn money. I had to work at the apples to get money. It was last year and I hated to work hard to earn money. I was just about to take my bucket to the box. It started to rain. I dumped my appels in the box. My dad said to get in the van because he did not want me to get sick so I walked to the van and sutinly I tripped on an appel. I got up and went to the van. I helped my mom by cleaning the car. When the car was clean it looked cool. It was nice. My mom took it for a ride. We used soap, water and wax. I got soap in my eye. It was not that fun. One day I was sitting in class when the teacher said we had to do a project. I got paired up with my friend Nisha. Our project was to make hills, mountains and rivers. We started the project the next day.
When we went to class the next day, we had a piece of cardboard laying on our desk and we had a bunch of clay. We took the clay and we were giving each other jobs, when we got into a fight because Nisha wanted to make mountains, hills, and water. I said that wasn't fair and she said yes it is. We were mad at each other. Nisha started the project without me and I was upset because she didn't ask me first.
We came to school the next day and we were still mad at each other. When our teacher assigned us certain things. Nisha got the mountains and I got the water and hills. We started making it, when Nisha started laughing. She said her mountain looked like a mashed potato. So we both started laughing and we said that we were sorry.
We got our project done and w bot a B+. We were both best friends again. We were so happy. ...Brittany

When I was in 1st grade my dad and I gave my cat a bath. Zack scratched me. My dad did not get scratched. My cat did not like it. My dad did not like Zach that day. Yesterday I had to clean the garage. Then I got to drive the lawn more. I almost hit my sister. I had to wear ear muffs. I did not get to go very fast, but it was a lot of fun. I did not cut the grass. That was the first vehcel I drove. It took a long time to finish the garage. I did not go to the back yard to drive. I can only go in their yard. A couple days ago my dad and I picked peaches and made sauce. This is how we made the sauce. First we picked the peaches. Then we pealed them .Next we mashed them up in a bowl. When we were picking peaches I stepped on one and the juice splattered. It got all over my leg. We have a big orchard so when we need peaches we have them. My grandma made peach pie and so did my mom. I had two helpings of everything. They were all very good. Today I wish that I have peach pie or peach sauce in my lunch. That's how I cooperated with my dad because it was a lot of fun. ...Lauren

A long time ago my sister and I shared a room. Our room was very messy. Sometimes we cooperated with other and sometime we didn't. We would get yelled a lot for yelling at each other. Then we got seperate rooms and now we get alon better. I don't want to share a room again, but we might have to shar another. My sister and I are always telling each other to be quiet and shut up. One day my brother and I had to clean our room. First we got a box to put toys in to go down stairs. Then we got stuff out of the closet to go down stairs. The hard part was geting it down stairs and where to put it. So when we got it down stairs we dumped it out. It was hard. It is still not clean now. But it is better than it was. Well the closit is. One day my best friends Kaitlin and Ashley came to stay the night. We got bored after five minutes. So we decided to ride four-wheelers. There were four of us because my brother Logan was there. There was only one problem, we only had two helments. So we decided that Kait and I would go out together. Logan and Ashley went together. Kaitlin and I went first. We rode to the back of the field and came back. Kait and I both went really fast. I rode mine and Kait rode Logan's. Then Ash and Logan went out. Ash got stuck once or twice. Then eventually it was dark. So we went in the house and played. At Midnight everyone fell asleep. Except Kait and I . We had our own pillow fight. At about five we fell asleep. Then we work up at 7:00 and then we had breakfast. Then we went out and rode four wheelers again, except Logan he was sleeping. We rode over to our neighbors. That was fun. Then we rode in the woods. Then we had to quit because we were almost out of gas. Then we went to Kaits house and played for a while. We mostly rode the go-Kart. I had an awesome two days.
