Fifth Grader Write About Cooperation In July I had to do my homework. My babysitter was there. I didn't want to do my homework though. She said if we all got our homework done we could all go to the beach. So once I thought about going to the beach I decided to cooperate with her. I really wanted to go. I hurried through my homework. I had to do three pages. It turned out that I was the second one done. We had to wait two minutes for Jacob to get done. We finally went to the beach. Lake Michigan was like an ice cube. So we went to the Portage Point Inn to swim. ...Kaylan One day I went to camp. We picked cooking groups the next day. I was with Kaylan, Madilyn, and Merisa. We had to cook lunch. Kaylan and I wanted spaghetti, Madilyn and Merisa wanted chillie. We fought for about five min. Then we decided we wouldn't have spaghetti or chillie, we we decided we would have Mac and cheese. Two days later we had to cook dinner again. We fought again. We fought for about two min that time. That time we got pretty mad so we decided we would have chicken. We had to hold a frozen decapitated chicken body. The next day we went home. I will never forget my week at camp. I can't wait to go again. ...Elizabeth Over summer vacation I wanted to earn some money to get a gatar or a paint ball gun. While I was thinking my mom said that we were changing my room. So I thought maybe I could earn some money by doing my room. So I asked my mom and she said yes. So we got everything out of my room and went to town. We went to Home Depot to pick out paint. I had to cooperate with my brother on what colors to get. We decided to get cobalt blue and red. When we got home we started paining. I cooperated well with my mom. We ended up doing two coats. The room turned out nice and I got sixty dollars. I do not have enough money yet, but I should soon. ...Curtis One day my friend Meredith and I were at a horse show. It was the middle of summer. There was a tack shop there. We really liked the halters but we did not have any money. So we made a lot of things like beads necklaces and playdough. We sold those and we did our chores. We had a lot of fun. About a month later we bought new halters. My halter was a periwinkle blue, and hers was a dark baby blue. Her horse Shony was a paint mini. It was very very pretty on her. My horse Gracey is a chestnut so she looks like very pretty with light colors. Meredith and I got along great. We never argued or fought. It was a little frustrating trying to get the money. We love the halters. Gracey and Shony love the halters also. Everything went very well. We obeyed our parents and the customers. It will be a very good memory. ...Annie One day last year my mom and I had an argument over wearing a T-shirt. We had a big argument. The argument was before school. Of course she won the argument. Then the argument was over. I put on a different T-shirt. Then she went to work and I went to school. I just learned to do what my mom and dad tell me what to do. We haven't had an argument about a T-shirt since. ...Johnny One day when I was in second grade my friend Emily and I wanted to go to Fun Stuff but I had no money. So we thought of earning the money around town. To earn the money we raked lawns, did chores and other things around the neighborhood and house. We also collected bottles and turned them in for money. It was hard work but it was lots of fun. We earned 15 dollars to go to fun stuff. It was funny because we saw a toy that had water in it and we didn't know but it had a hole and it blows up. We bought silly string, candy and other things. We had a lot of fun. I can't wait to do it again. ...Moriah Last year when I was a peace maker two kids were fighting over a soccer ball. One kid was kicking the ball against the wall. Then another kid came and stole the ball. They started to fight. I saw that they were fighting so I went to see whats the matter. When I got down there I got a hole lot of stories. I told the kids that they will both have a time out if they don't tell me the truth and I talked them into sharing. When I left they started to play a little soccer game. ..Joe One day I was in a hotel with my dad and sister. We were trying to find a place to eat. Finally we found a Red Lobster. We tried to make a reservation but there was an hour wait. So we got a buzzer so when it was time it would ring. We waited and waited. Then we started playing a guessing game that is when you think of something and the other person tries to guess. Then we watched cars go by. Then we noticed there was still an hour to go so we went to the hotel and watched TV for a while. Then it got time to eat. We got in the car and drove to Red Lobster. Then we ate and it was really good and I loved it. Then we drove to the hotel and got to the pool like I wanted to. Then we went to bed. It was really fun and I was happy we did it. ...Austin O. Last week I had to do the dishes. I don't like to do the dishes because it is so hard from my view to unload and reload. I argued with my mom at first, but it ended up that I gave in and loaded the dishwasher. After I put the soap in I closed the door and my mom said that I did a good job and that I could go into the living room an watch some TV. The episode I watched was the Dick VanDyke Show. When the episode was over my cat, Lady, was chasing her tail so I picked her up and said, "you silly cat. How come your chasing your tail. I just did the dishes an I don't want to watch you chase your tail." She slipped out of my arms and went to her food bowl and meowed like somebody was stepping on her tail. She convinced me to put a little food in her dish and pat her on the head. My mom called me to unload the dishwasher again because it was done with the first load. After I was done it was time for bed. I got into my pajamas and said to myself, "I never want to do the dishes again." ...Becky |
Last week, in Science, Mr. Neph
started our class on an Acorn Weevil project. He said we
got to pick partners, and I picked Miranda. We went to
get acorns from Mr. Neph. We looked through them quickly,
and we found one with a hole in it! A hole means there
could be a larvae inside. When we got to our desk, we cut
it open with a knife, and there was a larvae inside!
Miranda and I cooperated by switching off cutting acorns
open. I think we cut about 20 acorns all together, but we
only found four larvae. We put all the larvae in a cup
and put saran wrap over the cup. The only problem was we
doubled our saran wrap so they all died! Miranda and I
found a larvae skin, like it had molted. When Mr. Neph
said it was time to switch w were disappointed. I had a
lot of fun cutting acorns with Miranda. ...Emily My class worked together to gather supplies for the poor. Every day we bought food, toys and clothing and put them in a bag. I brought in toys. We gathered lots of toys, clothing and food. When we were done we sent them to the poor. In the end we gathered 5 cans of soup, 12 different types of toys, and 5 shirts and 5 shorts. I liked this project and I hope it helped the poor. This project made me feel good, because I was helping out people who needed help. Our class cooperated very well, and for a treat we got to go get ice cream. We walked to the ice cream store, and got either chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry ice cream. When we were done getting ice cream we had ice cream all over our faces. ...Miranda Last year, March 29th, was my dads birthday. We planned him a surprise birthday party. First we called all of the family, then while he was at work we picked out a cake. I wanted chocolate with chocolate frosting. My mom waned vanilla cake with vanilla frosting. So we cooperated together and decided on vanilla cake with chocolate frosting. We baked the cake and put Happy Birthday Randy, wrapped up his satelight watch in red tissue paper. Red is his favorite color. Then w decorated the cake. We cleaned the house. It took us 15 minutes to clean the house. Finally everyone got there. He pulled in the driveway and got out of the car. We all yelled "Surprise." It was fun. That's how we celebrated my dads 44th Birthday. ...Jessa Me and my brothers worked together on cleaning the house for my mom. We worked together by cleaning the living room and the kitchen. I cooperated with my brothers by helping each other. It took a few hours. We used the vacuum in the living room. I mopped the kitchen floor. Then we cleaned the bedroom We cleaned the toys of the floor. I swept the floor. We were all done and we cooperated good. ...Chris Today we had to push ramming pads up a big hill. It is very hard but also fun in ways. There is a whole bunch of kids that help to ram the pods up the hill. All of us had to cooperate to do this and we all did. Foot ball practice is really cool and awesome, because you can practice plays and get to ram people. You learn a lot about cooperation from playing football. ...Bryce I cooperated with
my football teammates. I did not cooperate with MCC
because that's who I played. In the football game I had
cooperated with my coach because when he told me a play I
had to run out and tell the quarterback the play in the
huddle. Then he would say the play two times so everybody
knew it. The first person to make a touchdown was Austin
B. Scotte and Quinn kept getting us yards. About two years
ago me and my cousins collected pop cans. We collected
them for a new inner tube. We collected pop cans for
about two months. I got some off the beach, at my uncles
barn, and at my aunt and uncles cottage. My cousin and I
worked together by scattering out, and going place to
place. When I was building a fort with my dad it was a nice day. My dad and I had plenty of wood. We used nails, string, a chain saw. We had really big logs. When we were almost done it fell over. Me and My dad were mad, but we got over it. Then me and my dad built it again and it didn't fall over. I put two chairs and a couch in it. I put a migite pool table in it too. Our fort ceiling was made out of twigs. It was on the ground. My dad and I worked really hard and got it done and cooperated well. ...Brandon Last year my friend, Emily, and I worked together to clean up the recycle trailer. We did it because she was staying at my house and my dad was gone and my mom went to clean it up. So we decided to go to. We cleaned up the school's trailer. All the cardboard was falling out of the trailer. We did not fight at all. It was really fun. We climbed up the cardboard and threw all the cardboard back to the end. The trailer was mostly full of cardboard. After we were really tired. We decided to rest for a bit. It took three to four hours. I would like to do this again. I feel this was a good thing we did. Next time I would like to do this with more people. We work together by helping each other clean up the recycle trailer. I would like to do more next time. It was fun. ...Kelly |
