Football This year we had a football team, I was on the team. We had a pretty good season it was 4-2. Our first game was against MCC. We lost to MCC. Our second game was against Brethren. Our third game was against Manistee we lost to them. Then we vs MCC against and we beat them this time. Then our last game was gist Chippewas. …Austin G. Our basketball team is
awesome. We have won all of our games except one, and we
lost both scrimmages against Trinity Lutheran school. Our
last game was in Brethren. We versed Brethren 1, Brethren
2, and Walkerville. We lost against Brethren 1 the light
blue team. Our next game is Saturday October 22, 2005. This year I played football. In football I am number forty-two and my brother is number twenty-two. My coach is Coach Matthew. At practice we tackle the dummies and the five-man sled or the one-man sled. Sometimes we run hills. We always have pads on for every practice mostly. I had a lot of fun in football. …Chris G. In the 5th and6th grade football team is 4-2. Our team lost our first game Vs MCC. The score was 26 to 6. Our team is called the Onekama Portagers. On our next game we played Brethern Bobcats. This year I played football for Onekama. Our first practice was about a week or two before school started. At the practices we did stretches, ran, and we got our pads. We didn’t use our pads until about the third practice. At the third and fourth practice we did plays, and started to hit. Our first game was against M.C.C. We lost but it was only our first game. The next team we versed was another Manistee team. We had about two practiced in between games. At the end of the year our record was 4 and 2.tr, …Quinn This year I joined the football team for the fifth and sixth grade in Onekama. Our team has sixteen or eighteen players and our coaches Mr. Matthews, Mr.Wethy, and Mr.Jacobs. We practice often up at the big field and down below the hill. We had six games this season. Miranda Hengy are thinking about going to the Warm and
Fuzzy horse show. It will be held in Detroit this year.
They will be ridding their horses Gracie and Kitten.
Miranda was in the Manistee County fair horse show. She
won six first and one second. Annie has never been in a
horse show, but has had about 10 training lessons.
Annie’s horse Gracie has almost never gotten a
first. Their western trainer is Kay Miller. Their English
trainer is Robin Morgan and Annie Nelson. |
Basketball This year I can play basketball because, I am in 5th grade. My coaches' names are Marry Bergen and Sally Coon. We have practice every Monday, Tuesday. And Wednesday. We have games on every Saturday. The first games we played were in Walkerville. We play four 15-min. games in walkerville. I usually play center or foreword. We are undefeated. …Amy K. I play a guard. The thing that I do most of the time is steal most of the time. The people on our team are Jessa, the photographer, Elizabeth, Emily J., Emalee, Amy, Sierra, Miranda, Moriah, Kelly, Annie, Kaylan, Becky, and me. That is our 5th grade basketball team. …Brittany W. I play basketball. My coaches are my mom and Sally Koon. We practice Monday and Wednesday. Our team has played in Walkerville and Brethren. Our team is undefeated! The people on my team are Kelly, Brittany, Emily, Emeale, Sierra, Annie, Amy, Moriah, Miranda, Becky, and Kaylan. Jessa can’t play basketball, so she takes the pictures. We have three home games. We have to verse the Onekama six graders during one game! Basketball is one of my favorite sports. …Elizabeth B. This year the girl's basketball team is going to play the six graders on Monday. I think we are going to beat them. We have won almost every game this season. The Bobcats beat us once, and we also lost to Trinity. …Emily B. I am not in basketball but my sister is. I go to some of her games though. I went to one of her games three days ago. They lost by 11 points I think. They all played really hard. They played against Brethren. Brethren is a really good team. They played Katlyn but she didn’t make a basket. They played good the other team was really tough. They have Katlyn, Katie, Sherece, Kailanli, Elizabeth, and Dimond, Ashley S. on their team. I think there might be more people but I don’t remember them. I kind of want to be in basketball now but I cant. I think it would be fun. …Sarah M. Girl Scouts Sunday the 23 of October the girl scouts are going with Helen Johnson’s Girl Scout troop to the Amber Elk Ranch, corn maize, and a hayride for fun. We might even earn a patch for the corn maize and hayride. I can’t wait. We all will get to pet an elk from a guy on the way to Ludington. When I first learned we were going, I had a dream about it. Ever sense then, I’ve been very excited! So on Sunday the girl scouts will go with Helen Johnson and her troop to the Amber Elk ranch, the corn maize, and last a hayride. I love hayrides because they remind me of horses. I think the corn maize will be fun because you can explore corn and get lost. The corn maize is like a big field of corn to go through. I like petting animals so I will love the ranch. That is what the girl scouts are doing Sunday. …Jessa G. |
