Celebrating Christmas

Claire

My family celebrates the holiday in different ways. Sometimes I go to Indiana and Ohio. In Indiana, my grandpa is a pastor, so my grandma makes breakfast, we eat, open our stockings, and go to church. When we get home from church, we can finally open our presents! Then we usually go to my grandparent’s house in Ohio. When we get there, we hang up our stockings and go to bed. I look forward to Ohio because my only cousins are there! When we wake up, we watch TV with them. Then we open our stockings and presents, and the next day we go home. Even though traveling is fun, I’m looking forward to this year even more because my family is coming to our house!

Every year my family celebrates Christmas at our house in Manistee. This is the year of 2005………Three more days until Christmas. This year I might stay at my Aunt Kimmy’s house until Christmas Eve. I’m usually up by 5:30 on Christmas Day. I love to wake up and see the presents and smell the coffee being made. The first thing I do is go and look at all of my presents. Then I go and wake my mom, dad, and brother up. My brother and mom don’t like it because I go and jump on their beds! I don’t usually eat breakfast because I’m opening presents. After I open all of my presents I want to play with them. I never change into my clothes because I’m always to lazy to get out of my P.J.’s. My brother and I always get a big present to share. Usually we have a big dinner (if we eat dinner) like turkey, pie, and a lot of other good foods. "Christmas is my favorite day of the year (Besides my birthday)."

On Christmas morning I get my Uncle Bobby and my Aunt Kim up. I call my dad and then my cousin’s. I waited for them. Then when they got there and we opened toys and played with the cat at the same time. I had so much fun with my cousin’s named Rachle and Nicole. They are twins. I had them put the cat in a Santa hat. They would not though. We love to celebrate Christmas!!!!

On Christmas Eve I love the feeling of all the presents under the tree. In the morning my brother needs to wake me up because I usually sleep in. We put cookies out for Santa every year and carrots for the reindeer. One year I put about fifteen cookies on a plate and in the morning there were none left. This year I asked for a remote control car, roller skates, ice fishing tackle, and a pad of drawing paper. Usually our Christmas tree is at least six teen feet tall! This year it is only thirteen feet tall. After we open all of our presents we eat dinner. Then we play with all of our toys. Then we go out side and sled. I love Christmas!

My family celebrates the holidays by doing what you could call traditions. On Christmas morning some one gets up and wakes everyone else up. Then when everyone is by the tree we sort gifts. Then we open them. After that we go to church. When we get home there is a little time before we go to my grandmas house. We go there every year. Everybody on my moms side. After that we go home. Every year we get home late. Every one goes to bed. That’s how we celebrate the Holidays!

My family celebrates Christmas at our house. Usually, we go to our church on Christmas Eve and have a little celebration. This year, I’m going to put baby Jesus in his manger. After that we usually go back to our house and open one present. My mom [Angie] is coming over on this year. So we might open all of our presents. Back to what we do for Christmas! On Christmas day, we open the rest of our presents. I love Christmas because we are always giving and receiving.

On Christmas my family celebrates by opening presents, having a feast and exchanging gifts. I usually make a gift. My parents buy gifts and my sister finds gifts. The thing I really want for Christmas is to be with my family. My grandma and grandpa will be surprised to see us. I will get to see my cousins and my aunts and uncles too. I love my family and I’m sure they love me too.

I celebrate a holiday called Christmas. On Christmas day I am the first one up that means I have to wait. Then my mom and dad and Jade get up. Then we go strait to the presents. Then we open the presents I am the first one to open. Then everybody else opens up their own. Then my dad goes to work. Jade and I play with our own toys. Then when my dad comes home we go to my Aunt Jane’s house and open more presents. Then we have a big dinner.

After we open presents at our house we go to my grandma Sandy’s house! We open presents there and we have brunch. After that we take the presents back to our house. We play with them! We celebrated Christmas that way.
