This is my third year in Onekama School. This year I'm in fifth grade. I'm playing basketball this year and our team is in a tournament. I have a lot o friends on my basketball team. Today we have a game against MCC. Last week we verused Bear Lake and beat them to get into the tournament. The score was 18 to 17. This Saturday we verus Trinity Luthern in the tournament. If we beat Trinity Luthern we play at 1:00 the same day, but if we lose we play at 3:00pm. This is my favorite school ever.
Today is the hundredth day of school. We have to write 100 words. We are not doing hallway games for it this year because we're celebrating the winter Olympics. We have a cheerleading game today. This year has been really fun. Last year I was in Mrs. Brown's class. I'm in hers again this year too. She has a 4th and 5th grade split My birthday is in a month. My bus is the newest bus. It is 05. I've only rode in it like once. Our school has a newspaper this year. That is a lot about this year's fun.
This school year I could play football. My position was a linebaker. A linebacker is somebody that tackles the person with the ball. Next year I want to be a Quarterback. My coach was Mr. Matthues. I also got to play basketball. I played five games. I scored 10 points. I only got to play five games because I broke my leg. I wish I could still play, but I can't. My favorite subject in school is gym. I like gym because I like to play sports and active games. Back to football. I hope we get new jerseys because ours are just yellow. I love these things. This year in school I am in fifth grade. That means that I get to do many fun things. One of them is Quiz Bowl. Quiz Bowl is kind of like Jeopardy with teams. The problem is you cannot consult your team to answer a toss-up question. You can for a bonus question, though. The questions can be really hard. Mrs. Brown and Mr. Neph are the moderators when we practice. they are the people that ask the teams the questions. Quiz Bowl will be held on my birthday, March first. Quiz Bowl is a really fun game.
This year at the beginning I played football. It was really fun. We did really well in football. Our fifth game we beat MCC and it was the first time they lost in four years. That was very exciting. I liked the football season. When it ended the basketball was starting in a few weeks. We did really good in basketball too. Our first game was at Bear Lake and we won our first actual game. We also have a game tonight the day after Valentine's Day. We are going to beat MCC. Then they invited us to have a hot dog party with them.
I like three subjects LA, Science, and Social Studies. I like LA because I learn about correcting and righting sentences. I like science because I like projects and learning about different things like plants, animals and even the human body. I like social studies because I like history! I like sports too. We started off with football. It was fun and the season was good. It ended with 4 and 2. Now we play basketball and we are doing good in that too, but we are not done with the season. Those are all good things about the school year.
My school year so far has been good. I like that we get to do book bowl. We get to do quiz bowl too. I like that we can do so many things. I don't like that I'm going into sixth grade. It is a lot harder. We get to do band now. This year has gone by so fast, and there is only three months left of school. I haven't played any sports. I don't like sports. We have football, basketball and a lot of other sports. I love this school year. |
