On Friday, May 12, the 4th graders went to Hartwick Pines. I got to touch a bobcat's fur. We all got to learn about the life of a lumberjack. We learned about the cheif and the cookee. I learned that some trees fall on people and it's a hard job. I had a ton of fun and i hope to go there this summer with a friend. ...Haley
They told us about the different types of woods. There was the mature forest, the hardwood forest, and the conifer forest. The people told us about lumbering also. I got a walking stick in the gift shop. ...Jacob
The first thing we did was go into a lodge. We were blindfolded and had to feel a bone or a fur and guess what it was. I guessed it was a beaver. Then we went into a forest. There are three kinds of forests. I learned a lot about forests. ..Logan
At Hartwick Pines there were so many things to see. A man said we were going to play a game. Then he called on someone and put a mask on their eyes so they couldn't see. Then he pulled out an animals fur. It was so cool. ...Cady
I guess I should tell you step by step what we did. Well, first we had to drive by bus for about two hours. I was in the back and we were loud! After the ride we went into the park's picnic area and ate. After that we went on the little playground set they had. It was pretty fun. Everyone wanted to go to the gift shop. We were tricked. When we got there we walked into the museum. ...Oh did it tell you it was sprinkling and raining? I had a bunch of fun. ...Nisha
