Maternity Leave

It was a pleasure to have your children for the 2005/05 school year.  I look forward to seeing them again in late spring with a little bundle in arms.

In my last week the students completed their bare books for Michigan Reading month.  We chose two students to go to Young Author’s Day in April.  Going home with your child is a math journal and writing journal from the 1st semester.  Also going home is this week’s main lesson writing from the story Farmer Boy’s Birthday.  Ms. Woolman has also sent home some artwork.

Candace has had a great week with the students and they have responded to her very well.

A Letter from Ms. Turk

Dear First Grade Students and Parents,

I am very excited to be filling in for Ms. Eichberger as she and her family welcome their new addition.  First grade is a fun level with children wanting to explore new and different things.

My background working with children and teaching is very diverse.  I am a certified K-8 Elementary teacher and also a certified K-12 Health and Physical Education teacher.  The last 3 years I have been a substitute teacher for all school levels, having held two different long-term positions.  I enjoy being active throughout the local communities having been a Girl Scout leader, camp counselor, Parks and Recreation staff member, grade school day care leader, and currently, I am the Onekama High School Girls’ Varsity Basketball Coach.

From now until the end of the school year, if you have any questions, concerns, or would like to stop into the room, please don’t hesitate to do so.  We will be doing many fun activities that your child would love to share.
