Junior Marcus Vasquez happily volunteers at food pantry on Fridays pushing and unloading carts for others.

On Friday I went to the Food Pantry. It was fun and tiring. Josh and I had to pull and push a basket up to people's cars. Sometimes we had to get it up a hill or just right outside the door. I liked doing it a lot. It felt good helping other people. I also had a good time. The people there were nice and one man helped me and Josh. In the end we were working hard to get to school for lunch. What a lot of fun! ...Curtis, grade 5

At Food Pantry they handed out bracelets that said, "Got Turkeys?" on them. My job was to put a turkey in every cart. The turkeys were very cold because they had frost on them. After all the Turkeys were gone we gave people slips that told them to go to Franz and show them the slip and they would give them their turkey. After I was done with that job I worked with Travis McKenney. We helped the people get their stuff to their cars. I had a good day helping at the food pantry. ...Becky, grade 5
Last Friday we went to the Food Pantry. We had to push a shopping cart up a hill. We had to push it in the snow. We had to work with a partner and my partner was Curtis. We got a bracelet. It had Got Turkey? on it. I was glad to help. ...Josh, grade 5 When I went to the Food Pantry I got to carry food in a cart and push the cart up a hill. We put the food in people's cars to help the. Some people were old and couldn't do the hard work so we did. We ran out of turkeys so not everybody got a turkey. Everybody got a box full of food that weighed 22 pounds. I love helping at the Food Pantry. ...Derek, grade 5

<----Students were surprised (and delighted) by the Thursday snow day, but it did make for more work on Friday, November 18. Travis didn't mind working, but I think he wishes he had worn gloves. Burr those hands look cold!
