Dear Kindergarten Families,

We have had a very busy week here in Kindergarten!! The year is winding down and there are many important things left to do.

On Tuesday we had our Mock Disaster Drill. First we evacuated the building. Next we walked to the Lutheran Church to be sure our school could fit in case we actually do have an emergency. Once we were all settled inside the church we walked back to school. All the kids behaved and did exactly as they were told. It is comforting to know that we have a plan and have practiced so we are prepared for any situation.

On Wednesday we had individuals from the community come to talk to us about First Aid and Bike Safety. As the kids head off for summer vacation it is important for them to learn some safety precautions. We appreciated the presentations.

Wednesday we had our Spring Sing!! This is always such a nice way to celebrate the year. The kids have worked hard and we are all excited for the next step.

Thursday we visited the Elk Ranch. It is so cool to be able to be so up close to those amazing elk! The kids were able to feed them and when the tractor brought all of us back to the ranch we enjoyed watching the other animals for awhile.

Tomorrow is our buddy reading picnic at Onekama Village Park. We plan to leave school at 10:30. Please be sure your child has a sack lunch. Anyone is welcome so if you are free please stop by the park and enjoy the afternoon with us! Also make sure your child has a couple dollars in case we decide to get ice-cream.

Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!! Don’t forget that there will be no school on Monday for the holiday.

Sincerely,

Miss Schultz
