Dear Kindergarten Families,

Wow! We have had a very busy week! This was our last week to study the Rainforest and at the theme art center students made a fact book about all the things they learned about the rainforest. At the math center students sorted fruits from the rainforest. Then they tasted all the different fruits to decide on which was their favorite. We made a class graph of our favorite rainforest fruits. At language and writing students wrote a sentence about a new rainforest word, read the Miss Mary Mack rhyme and completed the —ack word family book.

On Monday we had the opportunity to get up close to three wild birds. We saw two owls and a falcon! What an experience! I forgot to bring my camera, but the kids wrote about what they liked best about the presentation. If you have internet access, check our website where there are pictures from other cameras. Wings of Wonder

Today was our final reading month celebration. We ate sundaes with a variety of toppings and watched a Magic School Bus movie. We had so much fun with the Magic School Bus theme this month!

Please do not forget there will be no school tomorrow as it is Good Friday and next week is our Spring Break!! As I mentioned before I will be attending a conference during our normal school conference time. My classroom conferences will be held on Tuesday, April 12th between 4 and 7. These will be student lead so you may come at any time. If you would like to discuss the report card in detail please let me know and I will schedule a separate conference with you. Enjoy the Spring Break time with your child!

P.S. Young Author’s Night was wonderful! Thank-you to all of you who came to school for this event. It is so great to hear all the stories the kids have written.

Sincerely,

Miss Schultz
