Dear Kindergarten Families, This week we have been busy with a few different projects. At the theme art center students completed a writing activity to tell about their favorite place in nature. They looked through magazines to find a picture of their favorite place in nature and wrote about why they like that place so much. They also completed a mothers day gift. At the language and writing center students completed an own word family book. Mr. K has been sharing his chick project with us and so we are doing our very own study. The kids read a riddle about a hatching chick and they wrote about the chicks that are hatching next door. We are making a book about all the different things we have been learning about the baby chickens. At the math center this week students figured out _ of 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10. They wrote a fraction story and they practiced solving number stories with sticks. We have begun learning about helpers in our community. We talked about firefighters, police officers, doctors, teachers and mail carriers. Main Kindergarten Page for Our Class: http://www.onekama.k12.mi.us/e2005/kdg/ |
