Our Class Made Prints

The Art of Printmaking
Mikayla

This is the printmaking process. First we drew our leaves on cardboard and we put glue on our lines. Next we got out brayers and rolled ink over our prints. We did this five times. I love printmaking.

My best print is cool. My print has three leaves on it. It is lightly covered in ink. My best print is called Blowing Leaves. Blowing Leaves is the second print I did. I picked blowing leaves because it makes me think of fall when the leaves blow. I think blowing leaves is the best print I ever did. Art is fun.

Print Making

We did art today, and it was fun! Today we made prints. First we got ink all over this roller and then rolled it on a cardboard paper. After, we stamped down on the paper and made a print. It was really fun!

My best print was called Falling Madness. It was my best print. It was somewhat dark, but it was a nice picture. We did five prints and picked our best one. I hope we do this again sometime!

Dark Leafs
Dylan

First I had to copy three leaves on to a piece of paper. Then I put glue on my lines. After that we put them to dry. Then we put ink over it. Then we put a piece of paper on it. It copied on and paper and that is how we made it.

My best print was my third one. It was the darkest of all. Also it had the best lines. I named it Dark Leafs because it was very dark. Dark Leafs was my best print and I liked it the most.

Print Making Process

The print making process is easy. The first thing you need to do is draw a leaf on a piece of cardboard, trace it with glue, and wait for it to dry. Then with a brayer get ink and paint over the cardboard. Next put the painted cardboard on a piece of paper and, with your knuckles smooth it out, then peal it off the paper.

My best print was my first one. It took a long time to get the first one done. My other ones didn't take as long. The fun part is putting the ink on the cardboard. Some of my other ones were too dark or too light. It took me a long time to figure out which one was my best one of the pile. They all look real neat. In a way they look like a skeleton. It was hard pealing the cardboard off the paper.

My Class Made Prints
Jaylee

My class made prints in art. The first thing we did was watch Ms. Woolman show us what to do. When she was done we had to do it. She said we had to make five of them. Our paper would say, "one out of five" and so on and so forth until you get to five out of five. First we get our ink, cardboard and a stand. The cardboard is for getting enough ink on the stand or wipe off the ink if you have too much. Then you traced leafs and after that you glued it. Then you were done for the first day. The next art class you have the glue all dry, then you use the ink. The ink is put on the cardboard. Then you get a clean piece of paper and you put the cardboard down. Next you put the clean paper on the cardboard. You keep on doing that. That's how we did the printing. My best print was really good.

Leaf Prints
Randy

Today we finished printing leaves. We spread out ink. We rolled some ruber roller through it. Then we spread it on.

Now my best print was dark. It had texture. It had lots of leaves on it. You can see it far away. That's what I did today.

Excerpts

…My best print was number 5. It has four or five leaves on it. The paper is clean and doesn't have any fingerprints on it. It is also centered. You can see the leaves clearly. This project was fun. …Mariah

...My best print was where I could see the leaves and there was enough ink. There weren't any smears either. …Brandon M.

...My best print was named "Fall 04". I named it that because it was a fall picture done in fall. It was my first and best one out of 5. I picked my first one because it was the best. It took the most time to do. It was fun making ink pictures. …Tyler

...I had two good prints. One good print was dull. It showed up though. The other one was perfect, but I couldn't use it. I had already chosen one. I was surprised that it turned out so well. Only three out of five turned out. I was disappointed. I was hoping they'd all be perfect. My best print was also very, very, very inky. I had fun though! …Cody

...My favorite print had two leaves and a light color. It was called "Falling Leafs". It looked like it was copied from a copier machine. I think it looked really cool and different. It was a really fun art project. …Lindsay.
