Onekama Third Grade Visits Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes

	When we went to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Levi and I climbed to the biggest dune that we could. We couldn't go past the trees. I climbed in a tree, too. I got buried in a hole. I was buried laying down too. The bus ride was really long. The dune climb was about 15 minutes. You could see Crystal Lake from the top of the dunes. My feet got cut on the sharp grass. 	On May 14th Mrs. Bromleys third grade class went to Sleeping Bear Dunes. First we went to a museum. A tour guide gave us a tour of cores! He let us see the life guard station. There were two ships. One small canyon and some other 3rd thing. But anyway we also got to go onto the beach. I found four rocks. They were so cool. Then we went to the Dunes. At first there were no foot prints. But in an hour or so there were at least 1,000 foot prints. I went on a trail with Mr. Masor. It took a long time. I lost three pounds. I had a blast. ...Sami-K
	The best part was when I got buried into the sand. The first time I got buried up to my neck. It was very hard to get out. The 2nd time I got buried up to my chest. That also was hard to get out. I survived. I played Lord of the Ring. We also dug holes. Logan fell in a hole that is how we got the idea to bury ourselves. I got my picture taken so much. The first few were with John. At the top of the dunes, Mrs. Sadale took our picture. I also ran down the hill so much. One time Alex and I lost our hats. I ran down and I fell and cut my pinky. It was a lot of fun. ...Kaitlin
	On May 20th we went to Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes. I got to climb a tree. I even got to climb the dunes and run back down five times. I got cut by a blade of grass. I was bleeding. The tip of my finger was covered with blood. I played with Brittany H. and Torry. I got cut on my big toe. I did not bleed. I ran down the dunes so fast that I tripped and fell. 	Yesterday right when we got to school we got our things and got on the bus. We were going to Sleeping Bear Dunes on a field trip. It was about an hour drive. When we got there my mom was already there. Right away everyone took off their shoes and socks and ran straight up the first dune. After we got to the very top we looked back and we could see Crystal Lake. When we turned, we could see Lake Michigan far away. We played up there for an hour. Then we went down to the bottom of the hill to get lunch. Then I went to the top again and ate my lunch. After that we buried Logan and Kaitlin in the sand all the way up to their necks. Then I used my mom's camera and I took pictures of them. After that we had a jumping contest. We would run down the hill and jump into a big pit at the bottom. Whoever could jump the farthest would win. It was the best field trip I ever had. ...Ismael
	I had fun at Sleeping Bear Dunes! The bad part was that I got sand in my ears and hair. I got buried twice with sand. 	Sleeping Bear Dunes was the best field trip I ever had. When we got to the dunes everybody got off, dropped their lunches, and started running for the dunes. One climb and my legs were tired. Of course after all that hard work I did get to bury myself. It sure was fun. I got my picture taken. After that I went and had lunch with my friends. we had to defend our lunch from seagulls! 	The third grade class went to Sleeping Bear Dunes. We ran down the hill. Sami-k and I played tag, and hide-n-go-seek. When I was on the top of the dune while I was running, I found two dollars. 	My dad was a chaperone. My dad took me, Mitchel, Sami-B, Alex, Alexa, and Sami-k all to the top of the dunes and on a trail. We were on the trail for 20 minutes. I made a sand turtle with my friends. We didn't finish the shell though. We got buried in the sand. When we got out we were covered with sand. We rolled down the first dune. We got sand in our mouths when we were rolling down the hill. I had a lot of fun. ...Haley I was with my friend all day long. we climbed the hill. Once we ran down. 	I fell down the Dunes. Me and my friends buried each other. My mom took pictures. I raced Kaitlin down the dunes. I fell and I got back up and I won. At the museum we got to go inside. There was a bathroom. There was a big flare gun. We got to go in the captains spot. There were a lot of rocks. That was the best trip ever. ...John

	On May 20, 2005, my class went to Sleeping Bear Dunes. It was a long ride to the museum. In the museum there were sinks, bathrooms, and a captain's house. We got to go out and skip rocks. Then we left and went to sleeping bear Dunes. I climbed the dunes 5 times. Me and my friends got buried up to our necks. We raced down the hill. I had fun because my mom came. 	The hill we climbed looked puny to me at first It was really big though. We charged right up the dune. We were rewarded with pure tiredness. We also buried ourselves. As in me Alex, Mitchel, Kaitlin, and Haley. It looked like we were pregnant because we buried ourselves so good. Then I kept throwing my bread to the Seagulls. When they tried to get the bread, I chased them away. Then we went home. It was a lot of fun. ...Sam B.
	It was fun at Sleeping Bear Dunes. I climbed a tree. It was fun to climb the tree. I jumped off the hill. I got tired going up the hill. We went to a museum there. There was grass that was sharp. 	We had a jumping contest. I climbed the hill 6 times. We buried each other. I did not get to climb the tree. I got very tired an the end. I bought one pop. I had a sub sandwich. I had a lot of fun. 	Climbing the hill was very hard. I loved running down the hill. They were very big dunes. There were a lot of dunes. There were a lot of big dunes. If you run too fast you will fall down. Me, Levi and Logan were playing on the big dunes. One time we were all running down holding hands an we all fell There was this very steep hill. There was a ton of sand. It was a fun day. ...Josh P.
	Sleeping Bear Dunes was a very fun field trip. Once you get up it looks like it's steep and looks like the edge of the world. I got to the top and then I rolled down. I got very dizzy and I got sand in my mouth. Sam, Alex and I started to make a turtle out of sand. Then we saw a plane and started to make SOS signs.. 	On May 20, 2005, we went to Sleeping Bear Dunes. It was fun. Alexa and I buried Sam. Sam buried Alexa and me. I climbed the dunes 10 times plus coming back down. The ice cream shop was closed. I had to sit by Alexa on the bus. I sat by Alexa when we ate lunch. Alexa and Sam T and I went on a trail but we were with an adult. Then w got on the bus and came back to school. ...Mikelle
	My mom and I climbed to the top of a sand dune. I dug a hole that even the teacher couldn't touch the bottom. Nick and I could bury Mathew and come back in a week to see if he had grown. But he didn't . Nick helped me a little bit with my hole. Someone said a seagull stole Mrs. Catanese's sandwich. It was the best day of my life. ...Sierra W went to a museum to look at stuff.
