When the day came to release the salmon, we put the fish in ziplock bags. I got 5, most people got at least 10. When we got to Bowen Creek in Arcadia (where we released the salmon) we wandered around a little bit and then released the fish. I wonder if they'll all die soon, or if they'll have a long life. They'll go into Lake Michigan. I think it's amazing that we released 181 salmon. ...Claire |

We had 181 fish in our tank. I got 5 fish in a bag. Other people had 9, 8, 10, 11, 12, 7, 2, and 5. We got to go on a bus. It is at Bowen Creek. I saw a sucker fish. It was very big. Torrey got bit by a leach. The salmon will go to the lake. The salmon will become big salmon. They are just fingerlings now. ...Bryson |

Releasing Chinook Salmon Yesterday we went to Bowen Creek to release our Chinook salmon Before we went ot the creek we had Mrs. Bromleys class come over and we put the salmon in a baggy. I had six fish in my baggy and I named the Nisha J.R's. Before we left, we asked everybody how many salmon they had in their bag. Then we wrote it on the board. Then we got on the bus and headed for Arcadia (where Bowen Creek was). I sat with Brittany T., on the way there. We got to have the salmon in the seat with us. When we got there my grandma and Aunt Sue were there, so they could see the fish released. They walked with us to the creek. A couple minutes after we got there we counted down to three. Then we released the salmon. Then almost every girl had to go to the bathroom. Even I had to go to the bathroom. |
Our Field Trip As you know on October something we got to go the hatchery to get salmon eggs. Yesterday on My 10th we got to go to Bowen Creak and release the salmon. When we first got there we were carrying our bags with fish in them to the creek. After a little while Levi and Torrey caught a salmon. Levi thought it was a minnow though. We kept seeing dead fish go down the creek. It was discusting. After a while mroe we had to leave. Everybody named the fish. I don't know why so don't ask. When we let them go everybody was sad, but we still have memories of our slamon. I hope the salmon will be happy whereever they go. Oh, but the way we released 181 salmon. |

We had a lot of fish. We released them yesterday. I caught a frog. It was fat. I caught a minnow too. I had a lot of fun. I got wet a little. I was the only person to catch something. I think the fish are looking for a new home. I think they are going to get bigger. I went to a creak. We released 181 salmon. ...Torey |
