Last Tuesday we were able to walk to the Onekama Public Library. We returned our books and were able to check out three new books. Your child’s books are due on Tuesday, November 23^rd. I would like us to return our books at that time, but it will depend on the weather.

Today Natalie Reed was my substitute. She was my substitute two weeks ago. The kids seemed to enjoy her.

Tomorrow we are going to the Ramsdell for a performance of Aurora the Sleeping Beauty. We will leave at 12:20 and should return around 2:30 just in time for Super Readers. Many Onekama students, parents and staff are involved in this performance. If your schedule allows, please come join us. There will be plenty of available seating.

Next week is parent-teacher conferences. I would like to extend an invitation to your child. If s/he would like to attend, then I would be happy to accommodate. This would be a good opportunity for students to see what a conference entails, since students will be leading their own conferences in the spring. Students will be dismissed early on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. Conferences begin at 5 — 8 p.m. On Friday there is no school for students. Conferences will be held from 8 — 11 a.m. If you have not made your appointment, then please call Mary Bergren at 889-9674.

Enclosed are November and December book orders. I thought this would be a fun and inexpensive Christmas gift. It has worked great in the past. Each family purchases a book from one of the book orders for under $3.00. The book is wrapped and brought to school as a gift for another student. No hustle or bustle. Also please let me know if any of these items are Christmas gifts for your child. I will notify you when the books are available. Please return book orders on or before Friday, November 19^th. You need to make checks out to Scholastic. No cash please!
