REMINDER

Parent Teacher Conferences

TONIGHT and TOMORROW

Your child’s weekly work will be returned to you at conferences. We will discuss your child’s work habits and how they can improve.

Math Homework.

Telling Time

Have your child tell you what time it is when it on the hour or the half-hour.

Math Money

If your child has not brought in their math money coins, they must do so this week. Students learn best by using real coins. The coins
will be kept in their math tool kits. This money will be used to help pay for a year-end field trip.

Language Homework

Study a River

Thank you providing your child with a homework journal. Next week we will be reading and studying about rivers. If you have time, take
your child to an area river. There are several nearby… Manistee, Platte, Betsie, etc … Observe the slow part of the river and the
fast-moving section of the river. Respond to these questions in writing. Your child should bring their written responses to school on
Monday for review and discussion.

  • What is the bottom like where the water is moving fast? Slow?
  • Where were the most animals found?
  • What types of animals did you see?
  • Did you see any pollution?
