Language

March is recognized by public schools all over the country as Reading Month.

To celebrate the joys and benefits of literacy the entire elementary is focusing on the Magic School Bus series. Our class chose The Magic School Bus Plants Seeds. We will be reading and studying topics related to plants and how plants grow. Look for writings in the upcoming weeks pertaining to plants and plant growth.

Bare Books

Next week one child from our class will be chosen to participate in Young Author's Day at the MISD Career Tech Center. Eligible students must have created an original book with text and illustrations. Their work must be their best work.

Math

The students have been introduced to equivalent names for numbers.

For example:

7 seven
3+4=7
5+2=7
10-3=7
9-2=7

Quilting

The children are ready to sew their quilt pieces. We will need stuffing, thread, and large fabric scraps for the back of each pillow. We are making 16 pillows approximately 40 square inches each. If you have any of these items, please consider donating them to this worthy project.
