Winter Solstice Program

Our class program, "First Snow" will take place Tuesday, December 21 at 2:30 PM in our classroom.

All families are invited to attend. If you are unable to attend, a student performance will take place that morning at 10:15 AM.

This program features seasonal poetry and music recited and sung by your children. They have learned these poems and songs in our guided reading blocks. I hope that all families will be able to attend, as this will be our Christmas gift to you. A flyer for this program is found on the reverse of this newsletter.

Math

Attached to this newsletter is our weekend math homework. Please return it to school on Monday. We have been busy learning how to read temperatures, measuring objects in the classroom using non-linear forms of measurement, and counting coin combinations.

Language Homework

Please have your child describe your family’s Christmas Tree. How big is it? What do you use to decorate your tree? Where is it located in your home? If you have not yet displayed a tree, have your child write about where your family gets the Christmas tree. A local tree farm? Your backyard? A tree lot in town?

PTO’s Giving Tree

Our class is collecting non-perishable food to needy district families. If you wish to donate to this worthy cause, please drop items in the box marked "Giving Tree" located in our classroom.

Thank you for your generosity during the holiday season!
