Winter Solstice Program

First Show will take place on Tuesday, December 21 at 2:30 PM. All members of your family are invited. Please arrive a few moments early, as we will begin promptly. All costumes should be brought to school in a labeled brown paper bag no later than Monday, December, 20.

“Snipppets”

I have a medical appointment Friday, December 17. Our teacher will be Mr. L.

There will be no homework this weekend.

The last day of school before the Christmas break, can be quite hectic. All the holiday activity can be quite overwhelming for first graders, and I know that families are extremely busy this time of the year, therefore, we will not have a gift exchange. If you and your child wish to give a gift, may I suggest a hardcover book to our school library. The book could be donated in honor of your child, their teachers, or their classmates. I hope you enjoy the holiday break with your family

Holiday Party

Our last day of school before the break is Wednesday, December 22.We will be decorating gingerbread houses and writing stories about them. I will make the gingerbread and special icing. If you would like to donate candy for decorating, it would be most appreciated. The Orchard Lane Country Store on US-31 just south of BearLake carries bulk candy perfect for gingerbread houses! Please drop off candy no later than the morning of the 22nd.

We will need the following:

  • Red and black licorice
  • Gumdrops
  • Red hots
  • Peppermint hard candies
  • Necco wafers
  • Small and large candy canes
  • Shredded coconut
  • Sunflower seeds
