Miss Schultz' Parent Letter

Dear Kindergarten Families,

Our literacy centers this week have consisted of Dd books and rhyming practice, Dd practice in our journals, sentence and pattern books, working with coins and simple fractions, making an arctic animals book and working on the city and state pages of our world books.  It has been a busy week as I have been finishing my testing in order to give you report cards today.

I cannot believe that it will be February next week!  Beginning next week we will be doing much more reading and writing.  Please continue to look for the homework folder on Thursdays and be sure it gets turned in by the following Monday.  I have included a new February snack schedule as well as a list of names for Valentine’s Day cards.  There is also a book order form.  Please turn in any book orders by next Friday, February 7th.

Please find report cards among the many items in Thursday folders today.  If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to call me here at school: 889-9678 ext. 435 or at home: 477-5025.

Questions to ask your child this week are the following:

1)     Can you tell me 3-5 words that begin with the letter Dd?  The letter Oo?

2)     Can you tell me 3-5 arctic animals?

3)     Can you tell me the town you live in?  The state you live in?

That is about all for this week.  Have a nice weekend and give those kids of yours a big bear hug!  They are all doing just fine!

Sincerely,

Miss Schultz
