Dear Kindergarten Families,

I apologize for the delay in this newsletter.  I came down with an awful cold and have been out of the building for the past two days.  Thankfully, everything continued just fine in my absence.  The kids were helpful to our guest teachers and all work was completed.

The centers this week have been Nn books and a Hickory Dickory consonant clock, Nn writing practice, sentence and pattern books, February calendars, the country and continent pages of our world books and the theme this week was the night sky so we made a Milky Way Galaxy picture and made a wish with the star light, star bright poem.

We have begun to practice writing pieces so that we can get some good Kindergarten writing into our folders.  A little more practice and we will be ready to submit something into our folders.  I am omitting homework for this week however, please look for it to come home next week along with a beginning reader book for your child to read to you.

Please remember that we will be having a Valentine’s Day party next Friday afternoon.  We will be making special holders for the valentine’s we will exchange with one another.  Your child may begin bringing in Valentine’s at any time next week and I will hold onto them until Friday.  Refer to the list I sent home last week for the names of the children in our class.  If you have misplaced this, let me know and I can send home another list.

That is all for now!  Take care and have a wonderful weekend!

Sincerely,

Miss Schultz
